Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

Harold's impressive bio has been released! Major occupation: 'husband'! :graucho:
'Environmentalist,' it must have to do with the use of private jets and mansions with 19 bathrooms. Let's not forget 'bestselling author,' he read Waaagh.

They forgot to add “world traveller, prince, VICTIM” (to quote south park)

There was a story about skeletons emerging from the ground in their vicinity too. Not a murder victim, think it was a burial ground.
The skeleton(s): quantity differed according to which article I read. Distance from the Harkles' mansion also differed. This one says it was one street away from them. Some sensationalistic reports placed the bones practically at their doorstep

That photo on Twitter of "ivy taking over the exterior" doesn't even look like the same house. The colors are different, the shapes of the windows are different, and was it iSource News that someone mentioned just yesterday as being a Snarkle misinformation site?

It's not the same house. Media does this all the time: Mention ivy = show generic pic of ivy

You are on to something. In the UK, people are honored to have the royals stay with them. Downton Abbey explained the issues and the honor. In the US, most of us see them as freeloaders and try to avoid them. Who wants a houseguest who just takes, never pays or gives in return? Neither one of them has such a sparking personality that charms the host. Even our politicians know there is always a quid pro quo.
It’s worse than that. Who wants a houseguest who may end up selling info about you and/or some of your other guests to the tabloids or writing about you in another one of their tell all autobiographies?

Duke and Duchess of Indiscretion and Ingratitude. If they are iced out of high society and the A-lister crowd, they really have no one but themselves to blame. Unfortunately they will just cry victim and claim that the BRF plotted their social downfall.

In Harry’s case it may be his royal entitlement. It has probably never occurred to him that anyone wouldn’t be honored to have him stay with them.

I see potential here for the Harkles to make money. They could advertise the house as a historic landmark or rather they could use Harold's amazing talent. :graucho:

The Mystery of the Hidden Bones by the Duke of Montecito, the esteemed bestselling author of Waaagh.

They should be counting their chickens right now, hoping their luck holds and the whole area doesn't get designated a Chumash sacred site.
