I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

I do think if they really really need that royal connection they will attend Trooping each year if they can get a carriage ride.

The official King's birthday 'Trooping the Colour' maybe quite different.

It's not a family occasion (Charles has a personal bday - 14 Nov) it's a State occasion.

The optics of a Queen and those of a King are quite different IMO. QEII (a queen) assumed the powerful matriarch role in the middle of her large family to mirror how she (or others) wanted the public to perceive her (mother figure of a devoted nation).

King Charles would do better to have his Heir apparent and future heirs on the balcony. There is no need for spares, or xtra-something fashioned from spare's-ribs (sorry for the biblical/feminist ref). As a King he doesn't need to display the love, he needs to show resolve and fortitude. This is sexist but it's also anthropology and he is appealing to a conservative audience not appeasing his critics.

Harry should have no military role, nor uniform to wear. He has no right to play dress-up (maybe he could borrow fancy dress - on the other hand better scrap that idea!!!! )

IMO (or my hope) H&M won't be on the balcony because she and he are a liability and King Charles "wishes them well overseas "

I also hope it means they are not going to participate in the Coronation because it's become obvious to them they would not be able to film or record anything and no-one would even be near them, so...

Anyone read Scabies' fawning paean to True Love? I came across this comment in a thread speculating who would be at the coronation. It says Funding Freebies implied a countess allegedly delivered the Morons' first progeny.

I hope Countess Bradford will be there, the obstetrician who was mentioned in Finding Freedom. The book deliberately implied that she delivered Meghan's baby at the Portland, without actually explicitly saying so. I am pretty sure she didn't because you would think it would be worded more clearly if she did (and then the world would not be speculating about fake pregnancies). But it was also deliberately worded so vaguely that CB could not sue or issue a denial either. It would be great if she were at the coronation and the two ladies could catch up over Meghan's alleged stay in the Portland. I would like to eavesdrop on that conversation. Maybe sit them near to each other with Major Johnny Thompson in the middle. Perhaps not even tell her it is Countess Bradford and see if she recognises her!

I was watching an old episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry meets a couple - black man/white woman, who is pregnant, due any minute. Larry asks the couple what shade they would like their baby to be. The father says he gueses he'd like his son to be dark. the wife eventually says she'd like the baby to be light. a big fight ensues.
So just a fictional example but this (as Whoppi has said) is a common conversation. Meghan and Oprah turned it into something evil.

It’s been three years since they left. They’ve now been away twice as long as Meghan’s 18 months as a working royal (and I use that term loosely since she was on maternity leave for a large chunk of that). Even their most devoted fans are going to start wondering why they keep dwelling on the past.

Isn’t She Knows one of those women/mommy sites of which there are hundreds on the web? Who gives sites like that any credibility? Those of us in this thread know way more about Harry and Meghan at this point than the woman who wrote the original article. We could be royal experts by comparison.

I don't know the timeline of the divorce and the meeting of new wife but he annoyed me - seems to think he has a trophy with a Kennedy and seemed to be much more proud of her than of the mother of his children

Agreed. I don't like him and I think Faris is well rid of him. But they reportedly have maintained a good relationship for the sake of their son Jack.
