I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

I think OW was in on it. Someone posted a video about this pages back. During their interview, OW and TW were alone for a while - that's when the racist family stuff came out. When Hazz joined them his words on racism were directed toward the media, not his family.

Oprah should have known they were lying, but that guy with the book she featured and promoted for him fooled her, so all things are possible.

Oprah was in on the ruse, at least to some degree. You don’t spend three days filming a two-hour special and then have them come back a few days later for re-shoots if the subject matter was at all spontaneous or secretive. Who knows how many takes they shot of each segment before they got it just right.

Oprah got exactly what she wanted out of them, a hit special, millions of dollars, and lots of attention which she hasn’t had in years. Meghan of all people should appreciate Oprah’s use ‘em and cut ‘em loose plan.

I have one next to my bedroom door. Got it as a parting gift from a co-worker when I interned in Turkey. Or rather, as @papertiger said, the evil eye is nazar (in Turkish), the amulett is called nazar boncuk ("evil eye bead"). Or you can get a hamza (also called hand of Fatima). I would probably do a spiritual cleanse every night after going home

ETA: I just read a lengthy Twitter thread written by a Native American woman who explained the trend to smudge is making the special kind of sage go extinct. She says her people only get a few leaves off each plant, thank the plant for its sacrifice etc. and so it can take them all day to collect a big bunch to smudge with. But a*sholes drive in with huge trucks, mercilessly rip out whatever they can find and sell it for good money to white people who are riding on the wave of the moment. I had never thought of it but it left me so disgusted with everyone involved. She ended the thread by saying maybe research your own culture's way of cleansing and use what is indigenous to your area.

The Oprah and Gayle manipulated Harry video on YouTube, cited previously, is GOLD , best receipts I have seen in a long time
The video editing created a scandal engineered by O, G and MM.

This is a prime example of how editing is DANGEROUS and changed the story totally. Shame on the ladies
As TRG says, H could have corrected the narrative two years ago, and said he was misquoted, HE DID NOT - that is on him

If I ever (unavoidably) had to meet H or M, you can bet I would be wearing my enamel blue Hamza pendant my father bought me (I have it hung around my bed post next to my pillow and sleep with it next to my head).

You only have to see the looks that M's given people to know the unfathomable and directional hate she feels towards others. That Harry can be brainwashed so easily and literally pours verbal-acid on his family and strangers alike is not a good sign he' s in good mental shape either. Evil is a type of madness. Yeah. I can never unsee Ghoulfriend's various face malfunctions that completely exposed her black soul. I wonder what it's like having to live with her and even worse having to grow up with a mother like this.

But now that you mention your pendant, I do have a tiny nazar boncuk set in 14K gold somewhere. I need to get it out and wear it a bit come summer.

I do all kinds of superstitious little rituals telling myself it's just for fun but it can't hurt, can it. E.g. I regularly cleanse my bedroom with the help of half a lemon, salt, garlic and cloves - use the other half to get bad vibes off your body - or burn a little incense (picked that up from the mom of an old bf and it stuck with me).

The blue is a thing in Catholicism, too. They say it's the colour of Mary's cloak.
