I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

It’s part of the nature of the condition I think. If they really are narcissists they can’t conceive of a relationship that isn’t about their personal gain.
In a way it makes you sorry for them because they are stuck with only ever being transactional and they can’t really feel deep affection.

I’d struggle to give Bey the title of actress even. She sings brilliantly but I think she’s more a big screen presence who plays herself in every role.
I dunno there’s been some precedents in people receiving an Oscar while acting out their ridiculous sham of a marriage to the detriment of those around them…..

I gave Beyonce the benefit of the doubt. (Katharine Hepburn would have been my third choice but I figured the number of fans who are familiar with her outside of the US and the UK is a bit more limited and shrinking every day as we Old Guard who still remember black-and-white films die off).

As for acting out a sham of a marriage, unless Megsy has put all those phony 0rgasms with the bogus screaming and gasping and moaning that she's performed for him onto video, dvd or some Dark Web streaming service, she's pretty much playing to an audience of one, unless Those Two are even kinkier than I imagined. So at least from an Oscar-winning point of view her chances seem pretty slim unless she's nominated in the "Best Performance By An Actress In A Comedy" category.

In LA I think the prominence of the entertainment industry motivates women to make themselves into the cookie cutter ideal of female beauty. It is what they see everywhere and for those in the industry it helps them get more roles.

Meghan didn’t get to be one of two dozen suitcase girls by looking unique.

Who are they paying to get H’s book as the number 1 non fiction book on the nytimes best seller list on Sunday January 29????

The NYT best seller list runs 2 weeks behind. They need the time to collect data from multiple sources. it is relatively easy to get on the list with a big push by a publisher, lots of marketing dollars, and discounting of copies. It is harder to stay on it for weeks and weeks. A book needs great word of mouth that has people talking about it with their friends and family who then go out and buy it themselves.

I listened to this late last night. It is long and complicated. This woman puts out amazing content on a regular basis. My take home message is that smart people (not H&M) who charged a ton of money for their services thought up this complicated and convoluted business of shell companies, charities and foundations. It also takes a ton of money to keep the oiled machine running so I wonder how much of the money they actually get to keep. All the business advisors that Meghan kept on the payroll surely started working on a plan for their exit the minute she said she had hooked her fish. These people combined with Markus Anderson/Soho House are the creators along with the smarter hires like Catherine St Laurent. The interesting thing to see will be if the Harkles don’t blow it all up with a complete separation from the royal link. That link accounts for 99% of the success that they have had up to this point. Another reason for him to show up at the coronation if he was invited, As @youngster has pointed out, he has weathered the freezing chill before. Despite all his moaning and the victim act, Harry has a tougher shell than previously thought when it comes to getting what he wants He needs the royal lifeline or failure looms.

Yes, this legal Structure is VERY complicated, I do not claim to understand it , it can work, if you have people to trust … or if you have an IQ of 150

I don’t doubt that H thinks this pile of legal spaghetti is a surefire get-rich-quick scheme

Reminds me of stories - “not too bright” star earned $50M, has nothing today and is suing accountant/lawyer for “mismanagement”, when the truth is the money was all spent on lawyer and accountant fees - they got rich, not the star

I think you are looking at her with European sensibilities, which are more accepting of natural flaws and beliefs that they give a face character. I thought she was a pretty child, and a pretty young woman. Growing up in one of the PS capitals of the world can be damaging to how a person views their looks. The age of selfies and mass media pictures has been a boon to the plastic surgeons as well. Plus actresses have always fallen prey to this. The smarter ones do the minimum and only when necessary. Most don’t and one day wake up looking like a whole other person.

Jacqueline de Ribes is my all time favorite for owning your looks. She always made sure they got her profile lol! By Hollywood standards, she would have had her nose fixed and ended up looking like Vivian Leigh.
