My limit for any bag seems to be about $1000, I balk at anything higher. It's not so much a financial limit, it's just about how much I'm willing to spend on one bag. I don't really care what brand it is, if I love it, it's all the same for me. Fortunately for me I love Coach, because it means that with PCE I can get just about any Coach bag.
Of course this limit puts most premier designer leather bags out of my preferred price range, unless I find a really good sale somewhere, but I'm fine with my Coach and other contemporary designer bags.

If it's a Coach bag I really want, I will pay full price for it (around $400). Most of the time I try to wait and find it on sale (Zappos, ebay, etc...). I think the most I ever spent was a little over $500 for my Madison Pinnacle Carrie Satchel that was on sale.

My friends give me the eye roll every time they see me with a different or matching bag. They usually spend $100 or less on one and then they carry it ALL YEAR or longer (gasp!!). It's not a money thing, they can afford what they want. I know I'm the one with the problem and this is going to sound terrible but I just get grossed out when I see my best friend with that same bag everywhere we go together. I even gave her one of mine that she admired but she still carries that same bag everyday. It almost feels like she's wearing the same pants everyday. I know it's weird of me !

I think this just demonstrates differences in people and what they are interested in. There are many people that use the same handbag for years, and it isn't something they feel the need to spend a lot of money on. Some people love shoes, some people love to spend their money on travelling, etc, etc. But I don't see it as the same thing as wearing the same pants or clothing every day if they choose to keep the same handbag. The handbag is an accessory, not an item that you wash between wears.

Oh I completely agree with you. I'm justing stating that it's a werid quirk of mine every time I see that bag of hers.

Some people see bags as accessories and others just think of them as something to carry their things. I know a couple of women who buy LVs then carry them nonstop until they are literally falling apart. When things start to fall off they go and buy the same LV again.

My limit is currently $600; I got a couple Wangs discounted at that price. I have looked at bags in the $1000 range, but I don't think I could bring myself to purchase one unless I got a good raise and planned on keeping the bag for a looooooong time, lol.

Well, and sometimes these one-bag ladies cross over to the dark side (like me) ;)
