The most I spent for Coach was the first bag, my sunflower Candace, because I didn't know any better. Since, then I stay around the 200 mark with coupons and the outlet.

The most I would spend on a bag of any brand? If I could be convinced of higher quality that would hold up for years, I think I'd go to 2k. Unfortunately, after spending a lot of time on the premier forums, I'm not convinced you get what you pay for.

Thank you ladies for your input! $400 is my limit, and most of my bags end up being $200-$300, with PCE's, and discounts, etc. at FP boutiques or dept. stores. I won't buy Coach without a discount. I have never bought a designer bag though I do dream of one day owning an LV Speedy!:hbeat: I just bought a medium Borough at 40% off. It came to a bit under $400. Now that was a deal! Happy shopping!

Mine would be probably be around $500 CAD before tax. But I've been researching my future Hermès purchases, so now everything Coach is looking really affordable. This means my limit for Coach keeps going up :)

I think it depends on the bag and the quality for me. Sometimes I will pass on smaller purchases to save for a more expensive bag (Coach or otherwise) and then sometimes bags come out that I don't mind paying more for. The most I have spent on a Coach was $800 about 6 years ago. I have certainly spent more on other brands, but it just depends on the quality of the bag and what else I am willing to sacrifice for it.

It really does depend on the bag for me. There are certain bags I love more than others. Like I'm a sucker for denim bags and I bought the Anniversary bag a few years back with a PCE that still ended up over $300 afterwards. My leather bags? The PCE's really have changed how I decide what I'm going to pay. I'm most guilty of trying to determine if a particular style/color will end up at on FOS (the nearest outlet is 3 hrs away so I don't factor that in but thank God one is coming here next year). If I "think" it will I'll hold off until FOS. It's risky but that's what i do.
From time to time there's a bag that gnaws at me even after I've left the store. That's the only time I MIGHT pay full price but my SA's are pretty spot on when they think a PCE is coming. Sometimes I buy, hold it and then get the PA when the PCE comes.
My cap? For Coach? $300.

I am so spoiled with dept store discounts, FOS and the outlet....$300 is pretty much my limit but I prefer closer to $200 ;-) I have purchased 3 great bags that were retailed at $348-398 for about $120/each. Love those deals!

I am so spoiled, too. The most I have spent recently was $172 at Lord & Taylor for a saffiano Madeline that retailed at $458. My small Madeline (also an L&T), which, by the way, I prefer, cost $118.

A few years ago, I was at a family reunion. My cousin asked me if our grandmother had ever given me her recipe for mandel bread (Jewish biscotti). He knew we had been especially close because I was her only granddaughter. I told him that no, she had not. We never discussed cooking or recipes. She took me when I was a little girl (now, this was when dinosaurs roamed the earth, mind you) and taught me how to shop at Filene's basement. Nana was a pro. My mother always thought she would end up dying there some day, plowing through the racks (she didn't - she was at home). I might not know how to cook nana's brisket, but I know how to get a bargain.

My limit right now is around $200. With a toddler and infant always with me it's just too risky to spend anything more than that. I don't want to have to worry about juice or milk spilling and ruining an expensive bag. It isn't worth it to me to always be worried about what might happen to an expensive bag. They are only young once and that is what is most important. When they are older I will go back into more expensive bags and accessories.

$310 is my max for Coach, and that was for an Ultraviolet Candace. No regrets on that one! But I wouldn't do it again. I like to stay between $150 and $250.

Max ever...and I will only confess this here, I've lied to everyone I know in real life...$800 and change for my precious, my grail, my baby -- AW Rocco in iridescent.

Lol, you're as bad as me. Right now, the only person who's allowed to know exactly what I spent is my DH.
I used to joke about lying to him but honestly don't. :)

Yes, this is a new purse. Yes, I do need it. Enough said.

Unfortunately this post will probably get moved to the general Handbag forum. For Coach I have not paid over $500 for one bag. But I have made purchases of several bags totaling about $1200 before. The fall line usually comes out around the time of my annual bonus which is what prompts the big spend. The most I have ever paid for a single bag was I think around $2200 for an LV Pallas from the LV store. I know they sell for more than that now with the price increases. But most often my average Coach purchase is between $300-$400 and I am most comfortable in this range

The first time I spent over $300 was a Coach Sabrina and I remember agonizing over the purchase, spending that much money. I think returned it and re-purchased it twice. But you get used to it after a while and start saying "But it's only $300" to your friends who look at you like you have 3 heads. I still have not used the LV I spent so much for. I had to have it and am terrified to use it because of the vachetta handles. If I do sell it I know I will at least break even as they seem to fetch decent prices on the bay

I like to stick to around $200. I do most of my shopping on ebay or occasionally on the FOS, so I've been able to score a lot of the higher end bags I like without breaking my budget.

well, my input will skew the numbers a little... my most expensive bag is my Reed Krakoff LE Boxer, which I paid $1100 for, because I wanted it for 9 months and it was extremely limited, and black/white is my jam :) For my coach bags, though, I haven't spent more than $350.

For my coach bags, I stick to $398 less whatever discount I get (usually from PCE). I do have one bag, however, that was $598 and I bought it was a PCE. It was an exception and I love that bag so much (the color, kiwi, swayed me).

I do carry premier bags, so obviously my price limit is way higher when it comes to those bags.
