Price Increase Update

I am with you. The moment I saw the price increase on the roulis I felt I made a huge mistake in not getting the bag earlier! But again I had other bags on my priority list to get first! [emoji51]

This morning I seriously considered putting my money towards more jewelry instead of Hermès . I have a lot of their bags & accessories. I wear the same ones anyway. The others sit in my closet. I had reasoned to wait till the price increase to decide. Have not made up my mind yet what to do.

You absolutely nailed the sentiments that quite a few of us are feeling lately... we have beautiful bags and accessories from Hermes already... there comes a point where we have to make tough decisions and lately I have been bitten by the jewelry love bug too ... so there’s no sense of loss on shifting our focus for a little bit. H is not going anywhere neither are we.. sometimes taking a break puts things in perspective [emoji28]

I know that most people reading this thread are primarily concerned with the increase in bags. However, I've also been looking at the increases in silks and, specifically today, fashion jewelry, and I'm quite baffled. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it that I can see. Some items went up quite modestly, or even not at all. For example, non-exotic leather CDCs went from $1150 to $1175. The new leather Mini Dog bracelets went up $5 or $10 each. The Etrier Double Tour and Rivale Double Tour didn't go up at all (still $650 and $560 respectively). But then - well, how about a 10% (Behapi), 14.8% (Kelly Dog), or a whopping 43% increase (the new Piano and Piano Manchette - from $600 to $860)??! Does anyone have any ideas on what drives these differences?

I think it's driven by popularity. It was the same reason they put the prices of Kellys up over the few years.
Also, sometimes they introduce a new product and almost "mis"price it so they later adjust it. It happened to one of my rose gold necklaces. When it first came out, it was clearly priced low in comparison to other pieces in the same collection, one January during price adjustment, they put it up almost 25% from previous price. But the newly adjusted price is clearly better porpotionated with other pieces in the collection. Although I am unfamiliar with recent leather bracelets so I can't comment on that particular pieces. Just saying that generally these things did happen.

While that would be logical...I think some of the less popular (as in not flying off the shelf) items increased too...

--Mini evies are super popular and tthe price didn't increase....someone mentioned that the sellier Evelyne in one of the larger sizes increased and those tend to linger for weeks/months on the website...
--Hermes 2002 and Mini Halzan increased too... The 2002 line doesn't seem to fly off the shelf that quickly and while the mini Halzan is popular it definitely is more available and several linger on H.com for many weeks as opposed to the Evie. Just a few examples that confuse me a bit... (although happy that the Evie is status quo!)

I am sure H corporate has a more complete data and stats at a wider level in determine what's "popular" than us here who occasionally stalk H.com as a hobby.
