Price Increase Update

Having previous experience in luxury retail it'll be interesting to see US prices increase on most items while the shoe prices are decreased. I have a feeling we may be in store for a pleasant surprise in February. US prices are quite high in comparison to overseas and brands tend to try to balance that out. I may be wrong, but I hope I'm right.

I bought two pairs of S/S ‘19 sandals for $840 on Saturday and they are $800 now. Wonder if I will get a refund or store credit on the difference when I return/re-buy.

You should ask your SA! I remember there was a price decrease a few years back and I was able to get back the difference (I don't remember if it was a refund or store credit though).

I hope you are right because some of us fly to Europe to get some items because it’s about 40% cheaper and they know that!

I wonder if there’s any method to this madness. Does Hermes determine a set new price for items in a particular country (France, I can only assume.) Then maybe they buy some kind of forward fx swap for other currencies for some period of time (6 mths, 1 year?) and then determines the other country new prices based on that rate?

Same. I bought my Kelly 32R in Clemence, a pair of orlan’s and a twilly in Paris for $9200. That’s still 2k less than just the Kelly price here. It’s common practice to adjust prices to make them more in line, so my fingers are crossed they’re coming down. I’d rather not wait till the end of the year for my next euro trip to get my next big orange box .

Agreed, was planning for a new kelly this year. I have never gotten offered anything in EU but only on US.

I’m not sure if this is a sign but I recall seeing for a hot minute on the US site the Equateur washed silk listed at $425 instead of the $430 listed for all the other washed silks currently available. This would be nice change since I covet both the Equateur and Washington Carriage.
Yes, i see the $425 price as well. Was $430 as I recall.

Most shoes decreased in price today. Hopefully other categories will follow suit.
No for the 'Starter' sneakers. They went up by $20. I think that they have to drop the price on the shoes to stay competitive. Has anyone heard about the increase in bags ? I wonder what a Picotin 18 and Lindy 26 would be? The Picotin used to be $2325 and jumped to $2600 and the Lindy 26 is $7.1K befores sales tax. It is almost $2K less than UK price. I wish that it could be somewhere around $6K here.

Which country you bought it from? Do they always have Kelly in stock? I was looking for Kelly in black with GHW
