Hey guys! I'm a newbie to this forum and was hoping to get some advice on my Coach Madison Isabelle?

She's got some of the sealant coming off and some cracks, I was wondering if the Edge Kote would be okay for the cracks but also wanted to know how I would go about applying the Edge Kote to the main strap that seems to just be peeling off.

Should I remove that part all together or just apply around it so it sticks back down? Really don't want to make matters worse!

Three photos have been attached, hope I've uploaded these correctly!

Any advice would be great! Thank you.
You'd get more help in the Rehab thread here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club-833400.html

I've had some of the edging come off of a strap on a Madison Sophia. My advice is to try to preserve as much of it as you can. I can never get a smooth edge with Edgekote. I glued mine back down with Fiebings Leather cement and then used Edgekote to fill in. I've also found fabric puff paint to be useful in getting a smooth edge.

Thank you for your advice, whateve! I'll have a look at the rehab forum too. Did see the leather cement but had no idea what it would be used for! Will have another looksie. :)

You're welcome! The leather cement has been very handy. I used it to fill in a tiny gouge in a leather purse and it worked beautifully.

This is wonderful news you're sharing with us, Oops. For myself, I really appreciate it. :hugs:

I hate being at the mercy of sending my bags to Coach if/when there is a heat sealant issue and there are no other options available. As the older 2007 Legacy bags thin out at outlets and eBay, sendings the bags in for repair could mean losing the bags altogether or just hoping and waiting and not knowing what they're doing to our precious baby(s) at their hands. :sweatdrop:

Since I've read some unsettling stories (returning the bag, untouched, and a letter that states it's been fixed or no credit for the effort), I'd feel happier taking control and fixing them myself. This stuff looks like it is exactly what we need for these heat sealant issues. I guess the limited colour choices available would work well for the heat sealant issues on the classic Legacy bags and not for other newer coloured bags that have recently come out (e.g., bright-coloured patent bags).

I am definitely bookmarking this thread so I can go and try to find this stuff and hope they can send it to Canada and not charge us Canucks an arm or a leg for the privilege of getting some.

Thanks again, Oops! I appreciate your generosity in sharing this information with the rest of us--free of charge. ;)
I found the black at Amazon for $6 and change, and free shipping with Amazon Prime. Don't know if that applies to Canada, but thought I would mention it for you.

Wow, I had no idea it even came in that many choices! The one I used was just called brown. I'm pretty sure dark brown would be too dark.
I wonder what color cordovan is?
Cordovan is like a burgundy. Don't you love all these fancy color names, like how mant people think Jonquil means yellow...just give me the primary color names. lol

Whateve, would the edgekote be a good idea for when the sealant is just cracked, not peeling off? My Zoe has that, and I am wondering if this would be a good fix. Thanks!
