Here are pix of the 1 carat setting and my ring side by side and you can see mine is a little too thick

Anyway, both rings are going back to Varna, my jeweler is going to talk to them to see if they can fit my stone into this 1 ct sample setting. If not, they will have to make an identical 1 ct setting ring to fit my stone. This is what I saw and fell in love with so I decided not to settle. I am just glad that it can be done even though I am ringless now.

Glad to see you changed it how you wanted it! Personally, I like the setting that you are going with now! I think the thinner version is definitely prettier so I think you went with the right choice. In the end though, it matters how you feel about it so you should be happy with it without any regrets! Wouldn't they just be able to make a new head for your diamond for the setting? Your 2 ct is going to look fantastic in the 1 ct setting but the diamond itself is gorgeous anyway! Congrats and hope it works the way you want!:smile1:

In my opinion, the choice to make the change was well worth it. It is a jaw-dropping ring no matter how you slice it, but the proportions now make this a much more believable RHR, plus an even prettier fit on your finger.

I like that you are sticking to it. I wouldn't settle on something so expensive!

Yay! I'm glad the company is willing to work with you and that you are able to get what you want! Csnt wait to see it!

Thanks Ladies, the 1 carat setting is stunning and I am glad I made the 45 mins drive to compare the rings because my jeweler told me that they were similar but I could've sworn that what I saw and ordered was much thinner. Not only does it feel good to be right, and I am also going to have my dream ring now once they fix the problem, hopefully soon! Wish me luck this time.

So two weeks went by and I still don't have my ring. Varna decided to make me a new one after all because they don't think building new prongs on the sample ring would be secure enough to hold my stone. Part of the reason we bought this anniversary ring is so I can wear it to my DH cousin's wedding in Asia, but I am leaving tomorrow, so no ring for me.

On the flip side, DH and I went to Tiffany around end of May and I wanted to see what I can buy before their price increase. I was lucky that they actually had a ring with the specs I like in stock. Fortunately we were able to get it resized in time, so this is my backup right hand ring for the time being.
Yes, the soleste!

I was playing around with my jewelries and decided to get a few pieces reset so I have different options to see what I can bring to the wedding.

This bangle had a really tiny center stone before, I had a solitaire pendant with a .50 center stone that I thought was a bit too small as a pendant so I took out that stone and placed it on the bangle. Like it much better now.

Lastly, to replace the center stone on that ring, I have always wanted a pink diamond but can't afford one so I thought a pink sapphire would be a good sub for now.

Thanks for allowing me to share. It's amazing how old jewelries can be revived.

Gorgeous pieces. I especially  the varna. TBH I thought your bigger stone looked better with the thicker prongs, but it's all about you so I'm glad you're going to get what you want. :flowers:
