My jewelry called today and told me my ring arrived early so being super excited, I ditched work for 2 hours, drove 45 mins each way to pick up my ring. When I saw it for the first time, my reaction was, o oh, I think this looks bigger than I had imagined and I didn't love it. My DH thinks it's too gaudy. He had wanted me to go with the plain Solitaire look but I went with this pave flora design because I have never seen a setting with diamonds on the prongs and I thought that looked very delicate and unique.
I didn't want to be difficult but I feel the major problem is that the shank is too thick. I feel like Varna didn't follow my specs as I had specifically told them that I wanted the shank to be thin like the sample they showed me on the 1 carat. My jeweler told me that they have to follow certain proportions and since they are dealing with a bigger stone, they have to adjust the shank as well. He said if the shank was any thinner, it would not look like a "lotus" which is the concept of the ring. Should I just accept the ring or demand them to make changes!?

We obviously have different tastes, but I see nothing wrong with it, it looks fantastic, elegant, blingy, and very feminine. Not to mention it looks absolutely stunning on your hands. The design is very unique, I 've never seen something like it irl.
If it meant to be worn as a RHR I say keep it because it is amazing.

However if you hate it, you think you will not wear it etc better take it back to make the adjustments you want. That's up to you. If it was to me I'd keep it.

I think it is beautiful. Are the proportions very different from what you expected? If not, I'd keep it because I am the sort that will trust the professional to do their job correctly.

Love love love the ring! And you must have tiny fingers because thag 2 carat looks significantly bigger. As a right hand ring that will be worn alone I think it's fine and a thicker shank is actually what I prefer for a RHR. It sends off a less "engagement ring" vibe.

However, if you don't love it and your husband finds it gaudy, I would see what they can do!

my gosh that's absolutely gorgeous! i've never seen a design like that, it's especially pretty from the side. personally i think it's perfect and wouldn't change a thing but i don't get to be the one to wear it *sigh* it's beautiful on your hand!

i'd suggest waiting a few days and see if you come to like it more than you did when the surprise of opening the opening the box and finding something you didn't expect to see is so fresh in your mind. we all have a picture in our heads of something, sometimes that's exactly right and sometimes it's a little bit off from reality.
