Preference for LV made in France/USA/Spain...??

I just had a chat with Eluxury's rep this morning about the same issue. They said that LV are also manufactured in Italy. I haven't seen that one yet. Anyone????

She also mentioned that if you buy from the U.S, you will end up with items made from the US. Same thing for buying in France, you'll end up with "made in France" items. I know that's not entirely true b/c i bought several items here that are "made in France".

I prefer all my bags to be made in France and I always ask for one. The SA will give me the usual lecture about how all the bags are being made with the same high quality and that it doesn't matter where they are made from because they have factories all over the world and blah blah blah. Then I'll usually insist on having them go to the back room to look for one made in France or else I won't buy one. Most of the time the SA will roll their eyes and go look for one for me. I know I'm very picky with my LVs. :p

When I first went in for my B-day LV, it was going to be a mono Speedy 30. I called the LV store in SCP, and asked to get one that was made in France. The SA that answered the phone flat out refused to even entertain the thought of looking for me, even went as far as telling me that no LV stores would do this. Reading this forum...I knew better. :p

So I called the LV in Saks SCP. The SA told me it was like looking for a needle in a haystack, but she would look for me and call me back later that afternoon. She found one, and she called and even held it for me.

When I got to the mall, I thought that I would check out the Saleya's at the LV store first...just to get a feel for them before I went and looked at the Speedy I had on hold over at Saks. I walked in...waited...and waited...no one even acknowledged me. I had deja vu of the threads here that spoke of the SA's at the LV stores. Between the lack of acknowledgement and the whole "France" deal, I marched myself right on out and went over to the Saks LV. :p

When I showed up, I got the best service! And a bag and wallet to boot! :p

^^^ Bjara, sounds like you had fun at the Saks LV! I know the LV store in SCP pisses me off sometimes. :suspiciou We need to find a decent SA that we can stick to. :p

Congrats on your new speedy and happy b-day!!

I just noticed this. My Pouchette and Poppincourt which were both purchased from the LV store in California say made in U.S.A. but my Mini Looping that originated from Belgium says made in france. Could someone please explain this to me?

Thank you!

There is a LV factory in San Dimas, California so there are certain popular items that are made in USA. Some LV bags are made in France or in Spain.

Hey i just wandering have u ever got LV items that made in france from stores in the US ?

i know they have a lot of made in spain out there... but any chances of it being a made in france.

im getting a damier cles. i want it made in frnace but if not ill have my sis buy it from UK

thanks for all ur help

Yes, a lot of my recent purchases are made in France or Spain. I guess you can always check at the boutique if you are buying it there. I remember looking at three of the same wallet where two of them were made in France and one in Spain.

I think you have a better chance of getting made in usa when you buy monogram canvas items. Nearly all my mono stuff was made in usa, all my damier has been made in france except duomo was made in spain.

I only like Made in France, but a little Made in Spain doesn't hurt either. Since none of my pieces are Made in USA, I'm not about to start so I'm still a stickler for where things are made!

I am having this ongoing fake or not fake saga with a bag I won on ebay. There is a question about whether the o is too 0 on the tag and some said that it should say made in france but it was made in Spain, so :confused1:
I had it authenticated by mypoupette, she said authentic. caroldiva leans toward authentic. Some PF members say authentic, other say fake. Here is some info that carol gave me since I paid her to authenticate it as well. We are waiting for the seller to send me better pictures to get a better look at the o0o0o's. :p

The luggage tag should not say made in France under the Paris on the luggage tag!!! This bag was made at LV's factory in Spain. Luggage tag reads as it should.

LV did same thing on the Mono. Cherry Blossom Retros from a few years ago. All the Retros were made in Spain. Consequently, the leather key clochettes only had Louis Vuitton Paris stamped into leather. Same thing happens if a Suhali item's key clochette belongs to a "made in Spain" Suhali.
Ok LV experts, thoughts please? Thanks
