Miss Sicily is nice but I truly like the Prada better. It will stand the test of time and in all honesty, I don't see it looking any less of a "night" bag than the Miss Sicily. I think you can use it for any occasion. I understand what is being said, I just am not sure it fits. Maybe a little . . . I just think the Prada is classic whereas the whole "dowel" look may not be over time. Just my opinion. Good luck. Post whatever you decide on.

The "dowel" handles of the DG seems to come and go in handbag fashion. I like it a lot tho, it is something I would love to have and falls into the feminine/industrial mode for me.

The Prada is a tad more masculine than the DG, but I can't get over what looks like an open slot on the flap is that correct? That seems to take away from it a little. This one is more utilitarian to me, with masculine but refined lines.

Well ladies...I ended up buying a (medium) Givenchy Pandora!!!!! lol I went and tried the Prada in person and the size I initially wanted (I think it was the medium?) looked too large and brief case like on me. The smallest Prada looked about right. I did love it and how it looked but I was still thinking of the Miss Sicily which I can't find anywhere in Toronto.

Then lo and behold, I come across the Givenchy Pandora (another bag I had my eye on along with the Nightingale) and it was INSTANT 'I gotta have this' LOVE. So I decided to leave the Prada/Miss Sicily decision for another day and I got the Pandora. I haven't even worn it out yet but so far it's loooove :cloud9: :cloud9:

Ha ha great. Enjoy your new pandora. Congrats

Did it change? Those are two different sizes which could explain the different positioning.

Don't know enough about this bag. Have seen lots of pics online now: mini, small, med, large and totes. Some have back zip compartment. Different types of leather too such as saffiano type leather etc or longer strap versus shoulder strap:

Does anyone know what year the design of the top handle and shoulder strap changed? Some are close together and others are set on the exterior ends like so:

I was wondering the same as well and found out that the older version of the Sicily has the strap near the handle of the bag while the newer ones (2012 onwards) have the strap at both ends of the bag. This is from an observation from the runway pictures. The Sicily was first spotted on the Fall RTW 2009 runway show. It was only in the Spring 2012 show that the strap "hooks" at both sides of the bags were spotted. Note also the words "via san damiano, 7" have been removed from the logo plate and the newer version reads only "Dolce & Gabbana Milano Italy". The Sicily was featured in all the RTW shows from Fall 2009 to Fall 2012 and made a comeback (in croc) in the Fall 2015 show.

Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure:-
1. Fall RTW 2009
2. Fall RTW 2011
3. Spring RTW 2012
4. Fall RTW 2015

I just bought a pony hair (old) version of the bag at half price and cannot wait to get it! :D
