Wow I didn't know you could get bumped down. Now I do. I have never wait listed for anything although they always offer that.

That's terrible! Not surprising, though, I guess. I know someone who can walk into Hermes and walk out with whatever she wants. Lucky her, but I feel bad for people who've been waiting for those bags.
LV is starting to feel like an exclusive club! They're bags, for crying out loud! All this talk about VIP, exclusiveness, relationship with SA... makes me go bonkers!

Yup --- this is sooo true. I've experienced it from both ends. lol A year or so ago, I waitlisted for something at one LV boutique that I no longer visited often. I gave the SA there my cc# but was not called at all.
As Travelbliss said, VICs always get priority spots no matter what the waitlist says. It's inherently not fair, but that's the way it is. For VICs --- it's a great way to get a much-coveted bag without having to go through hoops to get it.
Yeah I encountered the same thing today when I WL for the speedy and pap. The SA told me if I left my CC# I would "get it faster" whatever that means but now I guess I know. Try WLing at a less popular store? Thats what I did when I found out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us!

you're lucky enough to find out where you are on the WL. my store's policy is that SAs cannot disclose your position on the WL. actually i'm not even sure the SAs themselves know. they just submit all the paperwork to get you on the list. but as everyone else said, VIP/VICs get top priority all the time. i guess its a reward for loyalty and spending TONS of money there.
also it helps to have an SA who has good standing at the store, so that they can fight for your position on the WL. if your SA is at the bottom of the pole, they don't have much pull.
though i find it highly fishy that even though you told them to charge your card you got bumped down.

I'm glad that I didn't need to WL for anything this season but I'm a little scared that one day I might have to WL and possibly never get the bag b/c I don't spend enough money at the store. Doesn't seem very fair.
Cutiepie - just keep reminding your SA for the watercolor vvn. She won't forget you. And some of those people before you on the list won't even get the bag. They just ask their SA's to reserve all new designs so they have a chance to get it if they like it.
My shop doesn't disclose no. on waitlist either but my SA will always tell me whether I am 100% getting it or not.

Totally agree!!!!!!!!! It's driving me off the wall with all the things a customer have to do to buy a thousand dollar bag. I thought we are getting the bags for 1/2 off or something. Being nice to SAs and having a good relationship with the store by spending lots of money there in order to get the LE editions, urgh!!!! Sound so ridiculus but that is REALITY and we must face it!!!! URG!!!
Me too! I have been told I was 2nd on a waitlist and then months later told I was 5th! This was when I first moved to my present home and so I was new to them as they were to me. I was first on the list for the tivoli and I was indeed first called for the bag when it came in. I ended up passing on it when I went down to look at it the next day and anther SA was on the phone while I was still standing there calling the next person on the list! This other SA was so glad I turned it down, for it meant her customer was going to get it! Of course my SA was a little disappointed, but that is how it goes sometimes I guess!
Yep. it is possible to get bumped down even with CC. So sad harh. Unfortunately it is the reality of this world -- Relationship does play an important role and I think VIPs do have a special relationship with certain stores.....don't take it too hard. Just get your bag and LEAVE. You are not there for them --
Look at it this way or rather I call the POSITIVE WAY...you are paying for the GOODs and the price does not include the service cos if you need tip top service, you may need to pay another 30% for trained and specially selected SAs which of course the intangible service is relative to different individuals HEHEH... and I definitely do not wish to pay any higher for better service..average with a few bummers are fine with me as long as they stop all these crazy price increase. Maybe than, you all won't get so frustrated with the LV service -- even though it may suck sometimes.
