Possible to get bumped DOWN on the waitlist?

I just got back from LV, didn't get anything, but did see the before dark, after dark, and watercolor belt (gorgeous)! I double checked to see what spot I was on the waitlist for the watercolor vvn 35, SA brought the book out and counted and told me I was number 15. I was surprised because a few weeks ago I was number 10. Is it possible that I was bumped down on the waiting list??

I didn't make a big deal about it because my store is getting 17 of the speedies in total and I figure since I am number 15, I should be getting one. But it also makes me wonder with a little more than a month to go, could I be bumped down further?

Anybody ever experience this?

That is sooo unfair! It should be first come, first served. If I get bumped down anymore, I may not have a chance to get one!

Oh really? That's good to know. I guess I better start looking for my watercolour speedy while in Paris/Europe bc I might not have a chance at South Coast Plaza.

Did you give them your credit card number? I think that would help pop you to the top of the list.

That does sound pretty crappy that you can get bumped for VIP/VIC. We all pay the same amount for the bag, but unfortunately money/fame talk. Hopefully you'll get your bag!

Definitely possible to go down the waitlist, especially if your SA does not fight for you.

As travelbliss says, VIPs take the top spot, followed by regular customers, then lastly customers who buy infrequently and do not have a regular SA.

What is written down in the waitlist book might not be in the order they call the customers as well.

Oh wow, you gave them your cc and you're still #15?! I that that if you give them your cc, you're pretty much paid for guaranteed one so that means all the people before you paid too!

Yep..VIP/VIC always get the first spot or get bumped up even when they decide late about getting a particular bag. That's one of the perks for being a VIP. It's just like when you purchase a First Class airplane ticket, you pay more, you get to board first, you get better seats, better services, better food etc. Same with LV VIPs, they spend so much money at the store so they get the gifts and be first on the WL etc.

However, I think you should get your bag especially after you gave them your CC info.
