[QUOTE= It's sctually gotten to be an annoyance these days getting solicited by random sellers while grocery shopping.

Does this mean people approach you in stores asking to purchase your bag?

Nope. It means they want to sell me something. Haven’t had it happen with bags, but with internet subscriptions, silk pillows, household appliances (vitamix)...random stuff that the company would send a salesperson to pitch.

wait why is this listed in Japanese Yen if it's sold in China? i'm confused.

Japanese Yen and Chinese yuan both use the same currency symbol, ¥. It's like how for example the dollar symbol $ is used a lot of different dollars, like both for USD and Canadian dollar ($) so you can see people add clarification with say "CAD$". But if you are in Canada they will just use "$" and people know it's the Canadian one. So here given it's in China, using ¥ means Chinese yuan :)

As for the original topic, agreed this is like resale that's done in other resale stores. Also I totally thought Costco did try to open in China a while back, but guess not! It's their first store opening! And as expected it was very crowded huh...

 you beat to it!! I actually googled it but your explanation is much better.

Is it legal to sell counterfeit bags in China? I am asking because someone posted here https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...t-is-the-question.992865/page-7#post-33282632 that it is legal in ‘their’ country.
Legal or not, counterfeit bags are quite easy to buy in Asia. The last time my niece was in Xiamen, she bought a fake "for fun". It wasn't cheap and we still rib her till today for wasting her (mum's) hard-earned money. I saw fake Birkins in a Taipei street market, and was told that they could customize one for me in any colour, and in PVC if I preferred that over leather.

You think COSCO would publicly sell fake bags?! :annoyed::annoyed:

Exactly...they wouldn't. It's illegal.
Counterfeit goods have been a bit less aggressively targeted in CN than in say the EU but they are still illegal.

Costco has been busted selling fakes before so it's not out of the realm of possibility.
