I agree that the Sugar Stack rings from Tiffany's look suspiciously similar to the Nudo. I have not handled the rings in person (whenever I've passed them, I never felt compelled to look at them close up). From what I remember, they definitely do not look as well constructed as the Nudo. I generally find Tiffany's jewelry to be unique and well constructed, however now that I have a Nudo, I am disappointed to see Tiffany's clearly taking "inspiration" from other designers. It is also disconcerting that the Sugar Stack rings are designed by Peretti and are not just a generic Tiffany design!

I still like the Frank Gehry designs though :o)

Ladies! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...but buy your Pommelato NOW. There will be a 20-25% price hike in February 2008! ARGH! You heard it here first. I heard it from the Manager of the Pommelato store on Madison Ave.

Wow, the current gold prices are really hitting the us jewelry consumers! Tiffany's, Cartier, Van Cleef this year and Pomellato early next! I bought from Van Cleef before Nov b/c of increase. Hit the Pomellato store now if you've been eyeing their beauties. It is definitely worth it. Thanks for the info TropicalGal! I wish I could afford to buy another piece now lol; but I am on a jewelry buying cleanse right now lol!

I have my purchases programmed for my twice yearly trips to NY. So I know I'll be paying more for my second Nudo ring...but I can't do anything about that. I go to NY in May...and that's when I'll pick it up. Good thing I got my Victoria necklace last November. Sorry for my misspelling of Pomellato!

Is this because the dollar is so weak against the euro or do you think they'll be going up in Europe as well?

Last month in Paris the amethyst nudo was 1385 euro. Less the vat, it was 1158 euro which at 1.52 exchange made it $1760. I didn't buy it because I really wanted the peridot. They had just gotten in a very limited supply of peridot nudo rings and those were a whopping 3320 euro! I didn't understand why the peridot was so much more costly. The so-called semi precious stones (I think that term is quite antiquated) such as citrine, amethyst, garnet, topaz, and peridot are usually very close in price to one another. In any case, I couldn't really see spending that much for that ring. It was identical in size etc to the other nudo stones that were selling for 1385 euro. Sigh, but it was gorgeous!

Aimee3--you raise a good point. They may be raising U.S. prices to equal the European prices, because right now, for some strange reason, Pomellato is cheaper in the U.S. than in Europe. So, I don't know the answer to your question, as to whether the European prices will rise as well, or just the U.S. ones. We'll have to keep in touch to see what the reality it. Thanks for posting.

i love the nudo, but i think it would be too big for my tiny hands. does anyone know anything about the lucciole line? think a little stack would be stunning! have to plan a trip to NYC soon!

I found a store while visiting my friend in Ct that carries Pomellato. Great deals and very friendly. Steven Fox Jewelry, nice to know there are still people that love fashionistas even with the tuff economic times. :yahoo:

I have 2 Nudo rings and would like a third, but I have to go to the store and try it on, b/c I don't know if it's comfortable to wear 3.....I would also like a Baby, probably with the red stone (can't remember the name) I adore Pomellato!!!
