lulilu -- do tell us which nudo you buy. I plan to buy a second nudo in May. I have a lemon quartz. I want an amethyst. But I want it in a bigger size than they make it. (fingers swell in the tropics). So the store manager told me to call her in March, and she'll have a few larger size nudos sent to New York for me in May so I can try on and buy. 57 is the largest size they make (european sizing). And for my second nudo, I want a larger ring, so, a 58 or 59. Anyway, do tell what you buy.
By the way, the Madison Ave. store is their biggest selling store in the world. It is too dark for my taste. Looks like a sushi bar! I wish they'd turn the lights on so you can see the jewelry in day light.

^^^I live in Italy, and my local Pomellato store is very dark aswell! I wonder why they do it? You do need good lighting to see the jewels and all the different colours properly..... Anyway, since I last posted, I received a THIRD Nudo (blue one) for my birthday from my DH! So now I have amethyst, lemon quartz and the blue stone (can't remember the name) and wearing three is NO problem at all, in case anybody's wondering! I also gave myself a birthday present and bought the Cipria ring, in rose brushed gold with amethyst! I will post pics ASAP!!!!!!

Hi, it's been a while since I checked this thread. Thanks LeeMiller for the update on where to buy. Tropicalgal - congrats on your new necklace (learn how to post pics so we can see, too!) Duna - your rings sound gorgeous - can you post pics?

Dangit I wish I never looked at this thread. Those rings are amazing!! Off to add to my Xmas list.... :graucho:

^^ITA. I was familiar with the brand from ads and I had eyed the rings in the storewindow in Dubai, but this thread made me really lust for them:love:. My favorites are the Caramelle rings in WG/ diamonds/ aquamarine or peridot and the Capri rings in WG/ diamonds/ lapislazuli or white opal or turquoise or black (maybe). The white opal and turquoise are quite summery though. Does anyone know how much these rings cost?

The SA in the Manhattan store told me it is the design aesthetic of Pommelato, to keep the stores dark. All they want you to focus on is the bling of the jewelry. Also, they don't have a lot out displayed. She said the Europeans don't want to see jewelry in a case; they like to sit down, be served an espresso, and be handed things to look at, one by one. More precious that way. Me: I want good light and display cases!

This actually makes sense, hearing it this way. In an exclusive boutique like Pomellato, this works quite well, since they do take the time to bring everything out for you and it's not like there are hordes of customers at one time, at least in NYC. I was just at the boutique in Paris, and it was quite busy. I thought I would have to wait, but no, out from "the back" came the boutique manager herself to assist me.

I just bought the garnet Nudo ring and I am in love. I needed to get the perfect birthstone ring, and this was it. I love how the ring is set in white gold with a pink gold shank; the pink gold is also the perfect hue--not too coppery. I went to the Madison Ave store and the service was wonderful. I enjoy having the luxury to sit down and have a amicable SA present different options to me. Of course if I were to walk in and did not know what I wanted, I'm sure the SA would have tried to gather what I would like to see.

It was a very pleasant experience and the price is (as mentioned above as US$1600) is reasonable considering the quality and the price points of comparable jewelry retailers.

nydiana - congrats on your nudo! i'm going to pick up my second one, an amethyst, when i go to ny in May. i have the lemon quartz nudo, and it is lonely. aren't we pommelato ladies an exclusive bunch?!

TropicalGal,

I am very grateful to be allowed to join the exclusive Pomellato club :D I must say that I LOVE the ring and am still staring at my hand constantly lol. I am sure I will get another one in the future. I just cannot get enough of my new Nudo! The next one I would get will be the Amethyst; I love that stone in general. But I am so glad I got the garnet Nudo, there is no birthstone ring that is more beautiful (in my opinion) lol.

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm slightly bothered that the new Elsa Peretti gemstone rings at Tiffany's look inspired from Pomellato. I think Elsa Peretti could have made them a bit more creative.

Hi, just read your question about diamonds scratch or get dirty, they do get dirty from many things like our hand creams... I clean my jewelry (except pearls) by soaking it over night in water mixed with Johnson baby shampoo, rinse well the next morning,(you can use a soft toothbrush to clean the inside of the item), pat dry and enjoy the shine...

Both Elsa Peretti and Paloma Picasso's Sugar Stack rings look inspired by Pomellato. But the Pomellato ring is impeccably designed and at a good price point. For me, there's no contest. I'll take anything from Milano with no questions asked! But helas, that's the nature of design -- with everything, from furniture, handbags, clothes...everything is inspired by everything else. At least with Pomellato, you know you are in exclusive company with gorgeous jewelry.
