PM Empreinte Noir “leather”?

That is very good to know about LV as somehow every one has been told "made in France" is always superior to other "made in"s. Thanks for sharing.

It's just a matter of preference, I prefer my French bags to be MIF, but it's true flaws and mishaps occur wherever they are made, regardless of country.

I went to the store last week and they had 2 noir empreinte PMs. The leather definitely wasn't super soft but it definitely didn't feel like plastic. I felt like the leather would be durable and soften up over time. I noticed that even though the PM's aren't available online if you call a store they have stock and can you pictures and ship as well. Maybe you just got a bad batch. I'm of the opinion if you don't love it, don't keep it, too much money to not adore it.

The embossing looks fine, there is a lot of variance on the embossing.

Yes, I’m coming to think that more and more. As much as I wanted to get this bag, I have to love it and it has to make my heart sing.

This is exactly the reason I passed on the noir empreinte PM. I was exchanging my defective mono PM two years ago, and since they didn’t have another in store, I looked at the empreinte options. When the CA pulled out the noir one, I hated it. It didn’t feel “nice” to me at all. Then he pulled out the beige rose creme version that was out at the time and I instantly fell in love. It looked and felt SO much better than the noir, and I ended up getting that one. I always see other people’s noir PM’s and they look so pretty and it makes me want to get it, but then I remember that one. As others have suggested, go into the store and see if they have another one that looks and feels better to you. You definitely want to love your bag!

I have the exact issue with the Neverfull. I like it when I see it online or on others but for some reason as soon as I see it and trying it in the store I’m like “meh not the bag for me”.
I went to the store on the empreinte launch date thinking this is the time I would buy it and ended up with the OTG instead :panic:

Honestly Im so confused about this leather. I bought the pm noir last week and mine is shiny, but on the stiffer side. Like a glossy/shiny version of caviar leather I would say.
Not like patent but just shinier and the embossing is pretty deep.

Do any of you have any experience with this kind of empreinte, in terms of, will it loosen up with time?
i dont mind it being a bit structured but would like it to be a tad more “loose” and soft.

It’s really hard to capture on a photo but tried my best.

BTW OP, did you end up exchanging yours?30294270-C57E-402B-AD8C-6E6A6DC7C1F7.jpeg

I ended up returning mine as my local store didn’t have any for me to compare. I just wasn’t happy with the flat, dull leather look. When I look at yours, my hearts beats a little faster as that is exact how I wanted MY bag to look!

I guess the good thing about looking at your bag is that it assures me that my perfect PM is out there - I just have to be patient.

Yours is lovely. I’ve been told the leather does loosen up with use.

Yours looks like one of the best out there. Any Empereinte will loosen up if you don't use an organizer. I personally wish it didn't.

Yes, they’re definately out there. And I guess that the “cost” of the deep embossing is the little stiffer leather.

But honestly feel it’s a bit annoying that you need to be so carefull choosing the right one. And LV kind of just cover their bases, saying theyre handmade. I had ordered another one before this that had to be returned because the interior was crookedly sewn on.

Years ago I had a speedy empreinte where the one side was the soft and the other was a little more structured. And the soft side totally lost it’s embossing within a couple of years - didnt even use it that much. And the soft side was slouching and the other stood up.... looked crazy:lol:
They didnt even use the same piece of leather on the same bag.

I adressed it with LV and they gave me my money back as it was concidered a flaw.
So yes, you definately have to be carefull choosing. If I had an LV store near me, I would go in personally if I had to buy another.

Thank you so much. Thats really good to know, was hoping for that :)
Its a bit of a hit or miss with how these bags develope depending on how the leather is from a starting point...
