I was reading that in the Uk they will ban the use of plastic straws and plastic ear buds within a year. The EU has also banned the use of microplastics in cosmetics, (they used to be in all the exfoliating scrubs and even in some serums) the best thing to do is simply not buy any clothes with plastic. Sequins, nylon, polyester are now banned from my wardrobe. ( though I still have elastane and some Lycra for swim suits)
I think it's better to buy recycled plastic swimsuits, as buying them is inevitable!

I just got a few cashmere sweaters I ordered from costco.com they're $50! I bought it in all three colors but am returning the teal it was weird usually it's a good color for me but not this one. I feel it's pretty true to size I'm a 12-14 and ordered XL because I would rather it be loose than too small I have a large bust. And the XL is pretty roomy but not sloppy looking I probably could have bought the large and been fine. I'm also afraid that I will shrink it I've never washed cashmere before. Any tips? I know that they say cold water and line dry. Do you really have to hand wash it, or would washing it in a laundry bag be enough protection in the washing machine? I just wanted to share this because that price can't be beat. Most cashmere sweaters run 100-130 range.

I have sadly had cashmere shrink in the machine regardless of wash and bag :crybaby:

I have found Eileen Fisher natural fabrics (cotton and/or silk) lines to be pretty good quality. However, there's a lot of boxy items there, so I rarely buy anything from them.

I love my Equipment blouses. I don't like the front pockets. I have had success removing them when I first buy and wash it a couple of times. Their silk is absolutely gorgeous, and is thick enough to last quite awhile.

For underthings and loungewear/PJs, I have had good luck with Hanro cotton (they also have a lot of synthetics so read labels carefully). Their cotton tends to be Supima-type cotton and can take quite a beating. Unfortunately, it's a little expensive so I have had to wait for sales.

I have yet to find a good padded cotton/silk bra from anywhere, so I have to stick with synthetic for that. I require padded bras so the existing non-padded cotton bras don't work for me. I wear cotton bralettes at home though.

Following this thread because it’s something I’m always looking for. I’ve been buying my sleepwear from Libya - I have 2 sets of their alpaca blended with puma cotton and 1 of their washable silk sets.

For everyday, I’m gravitating towards Ulla Johnson more and more. I did, surprisingly, fine a beautiful 100% cotton blouse by Dolan at Anthropologie. Oh! And I picked up some tees from Madewell to wear casually this summer with jeans or shorts. Although, my hairdresser was wear one yesterday with a skirt and she looked adorable! Their tees labeled with “whisper” are a lightweight cotton and I’ve been living in them. Except the white - those are sheer.

I've gotten into Lucy & Yak and Mokuyobi recently. They're insanely vibrant though, so definitely not for everyone.

On the more subtle side, I'm planning to order a tencel dress from We Are Thought. Some of their cuts and colors are not for me, but there's a beautiful dress I have my eye on. Waiting for the June/July sales in the UK to start before I buy though!

All my Madewell whisper tees get these tiny holes in them. i don't tuck them in so it isn't from the zipper in my jeans but it is almost in that spot below my belly button. Odd that it happens to every one of them! And I just noticed a different brand's t-shirt I've had for quite a while. Time for new ones!

With the holidays upon us and lots of buying occurring, I thought it might be a good time to bump this thread. Any and all recommendations are appreciated especially with the upcoming winter sales!

I do not recall ever posting about this gem of a brand "GOAT Fashion" from the UK. So, far I have only purchased some silk blouses, but the silk is substantial (even in cream it isn't see-through) and drapes beautifully The blouses that I have purchased are all very classic in their design. They are manufactured with attention to every detail and they have held up well. The only con is the very high price, but mindfully buying one a season (ok, I haven't exactly succeeded in that yet ) and waiting for sales or coupon codes has helped.

@ladysarah Are you familiar with this brand? If so, what do you think about their wool crepe trousers, skirts and dresses?

@Julide This brand may be of interest to you. I purchased some very classic styles in neutral colors to boost up my "scarf clothing."

@Luv2Scoop Thank you for introducing me to a couple of interesting brands on the "Shopping your own wardrobe and/ or really sticking to a budget?” thread. I didn't want to get more off topic there so I am posting this here. The feel and thickness of the silk that they use is amazing!

@susanagonzc This brand may be worth looking into for longevity. I have been very pleased with the purchases I have made.

Yes, familiar with GOAT though I don’t own anything from them. As you say, quality is very high and well cut shapes. I think it used to be a favourite with a certain set and dresses as well as trousers are classics to wear for years.
