I know lots of mid-00s bags had patterned lining, first the horse-bit lining (around '05) and after, sometimes the stripe. This colour will be Summer collection. I can't give you the exact date because it wasn't a fashion collection piece but there is something quite SS'07 about it(going by gut instinct rather than actual proof :fox

Thank you papertiger! I figured it was several years old, although you would never know by the condition. It didn't even occur to me it was from the summer collection because of the metallic. Makes perfect sense! Thanks again![]()
At your convenience, I would love to know more about this cute little evening bag. I will not be trying to buy it, so truly no rush. Cute as a button, but a shame it seems to be missing at least one of its original paste stones.

It's from the very early '70's (although the shield charm doesn't belong). I have a bag from exactly 1970 with the same markings and GG print but on suede, very finely made. This clutch wouldn't have had a name as such, some of Gucci's evening bags were made in very small numbers, but it should be silk-satin. I have a black silk satin grosgrain (from a bit earlier) For the evening (not talking cocktail) It was a faux-pas to carry leather/croc/lizard , however small, only fabric (ideally silk) or jeweled minaudieres were acceptable with a long gown.
I can't help but think this bag was part of a set, perhaps sold with matching shoes, there's something not quite complete about it.
I was not sure where to put this, didn't see a "Look at this pretty Gucci bag" thread! I saw tis on Etsy and I just love the details, especially the wood in the hardware! I am not considering it for purchase, just wanted to share. (DISCLAIMER: I do not know if it is authentic, nor do I know the seller, so please do your due diligence if thinking about buying it. I am not endorsing this bag, just sharing a picture.) Any info is always interesting!
