MOWCAM said:Can anyone help me identify this one? My friend is desperately looking for it; and I've never seen it before. Is it even real?
Please help my identify these purses. thanks
I think this is Britt, right? Year? Thanks
It does look like a Britt hobo, I would post it on the Authenticate This thread for you own piece of mind as there wee many fakes of this particular model![]()
Thanks papertiger. I'll do that. Do you know the year?
mid-00s
Thanks.
Just out of curiosity, does the serial number on the underside of the interior leather tab tell us the year?
The first appears to be some version of the Positano but I've never seen one quite like this
The second may be a 1990s bag, I'm not sure they even had names if it is one.
Thanks paper tiger. I did I have it authenticated here and got thumbs up on authentication. However, I was wondering why I can find nothing about it here or elsewhere online. I see a lot of the hobos but not this one. Do you know if this style is quite old or was it made for only a very short time? Just curious. I really have fallen in love with this little bag. I had no idea I would like it so much! Congratulations, very pleased for you. It's not so old. Have a look through the earlier postings in the ref library (collections/hobos) in this sub-forum. You should find quite a few people also fell in-love with this cute style
These colourful linings were used in the mid-00s and the Britt (named after the actress and Bond Girl Britt Ekland) was first used on Britt's own Gucci 1970s bag that was seen in the Bond film 'The Man With the Golden Gun'. Britt and her then husband Peter Sellers were both huge Gucci fans. The original Britt bag had the GG logo in the centre.
