The approximate measurements are 18" tall x 18" wide x 9" deep.

I can't get a clear picture of the back of the tag because it's navy blue and embossed. The number reads 157465212792.

Sounds like a travel bag.

No hurry, so its a tag? Maybe its not an original but a re-issue, take a pic of the front first, just wait 'till It's lighter to take a pic if need be.

Still can't get the tag, but here's more.
Thanks for your help :)

^ that's OK.

It must be reissue of 1950s travel bag. There were many similar on the mens catwalk AW2010-11 Spring/Summer '11 too, so probably last years :thinkin:. I just never saw a mono-print or a webstripe then. Did you buy it last year new?

Obviously the mono-print only came in, in 1960s but there was also a re-issue of this travel bag in the early 1970s, possibly it's a re-issue of the re-issue LOL. I think the leather is pigskin but its not easy to say from these pics (the original 1950s was pigskin) but I'm pretty sure .

It's similar to my Secret Flap (2010/11) modelled on the same 1950s shape but of course that's handbag sized so they might have a different name.

If I find an actual name or the original 1950s Mod Brev no, I will come back to this thread.

Here's a pic of similar models from men's SS'11 but I only saw diamond-print and without webstripes then

Thanks, Papertiger! :smile1:

It was purchased about three years ago..

OK, I sent you a PM but I'll take a guess that this is mono-print, webstripe travel bag from S/S 2008. Although it was all black and white on the catwalk that Summer there were travel bags in a similar combo and this one was probably a short-run or a sample.

Please help me identify what season and the style name of this Gucci bag.. I know the similar style name is the Pelham but.. Yes thank you!

Hi I'm new to this Gucci forum. :flowers:

I'm thinking of getting a Gucci hobo in the near future for my next shoulder bag. Is the Sukey "THE" classic hobo I keep seeing on women everywhere? I only get glimpses of the bag so I can't be sure of the model.

I know it's a large bag, and a classic hobo shape just like what a hobo would carry if he had a scarf that large :) Also, will the large sukey fit over the shoulder?

TIA!

oh and is the beige/ebony combo the standard color?

Could someone help id this bag? It has a unique detail (so far as I cannot seem to find
another Gucci with this detail): The "hanging G" can be pulled across and locked to
shape the purse into a circular form (see pics).

fyi--
. The bag is white leather with a textured strip down each side and along the bottom.
. Hardware is heavy mirrored silver.
. Interior: brown monogrammed fabric.
. serial # top line: 001-3315 second line: 002113

Neiman Marcus. purchased between 1995-2001. (12-16 years ago.)

Here's the "CLUE" - that may ring a bell with someone:

The sales associate said the bags were a "limited" or "special" edition...
that each NeimanMarcus store received only one in each color: Black, White & Pink.

Sadly, I noticed the bag I had purchased (in white) had a flaw.
When I went to exchange it a few days later, the associate said it
would be nearly impossible to get another one in white, but I persisted
and she was kind enough to call several NM stores around the country.
After numerous attempts, she located one in 'white' at NM King of Prussia.

-I'm not sure what she meant by "limited" or "special edition"...
In the past few years, I've seen one or two of these in 'black' appear on ebay,
but only in black. To this day, I've never seen another white one.

-If someone can shed any light at all, I'd appreciate it.- Style name, or series...
And is the "hanging G" significant of an anniversary or Gucci event?

If nothing else, is there anyone reading this who can tell me the correct term
for the "hanging G"-- Is it considered a "charm", or a "lock", or
???
Maybe if I have the proper term for what that hanging "G" is, I can use it to narrow
my search results.

Many thanks.

Either a Sukey, a Jackie or a New Jackie would be considered Gucci classic.

The Sukey was based on a bamboo-handled hobo from over 50 years ago but with its comfortable leather handle that does fit over the shoulder, the Sukey is the modern, casual, classic Gucci hobo.

Beige/ebony mono-print with dark-brown leather trim is very classic but equally so in brown or black Guccissima leather.

I can't help you as far as a name goes for this specific bag but almost all Gucci bags are limited by the nature of once they sell out they rarely make a return until the are reissued (which could take years and years and they are always slightly different).

The hanging G would normally be called a charm but people call 'things' all sorts of unofficial names so it might not help, but I hope you find your white bag.
