Hello!

I just bought an Evelyne PM from a local reseller, and am not sure how to read the date code without a shape to guide me. Is it T (2015) or Z (2021) or something else? They said the colour is Rouge Hermès.

The leather feels absolutely gorgeous and bag looks to be in excellent condition... except that there's dark marks beneath the d-rings on both sides. (Pic of one included below, marks are on both sides.) Am I right in thinking this is unusual, especially in a bag that otherwise has very little wear? Is it something to be concerned about?

I can return it, but the colour is rare to find on the resale market here in Australia and the price was good. Just not sure how worried I should be about those marks.

In my view, this bag is from 2015, the colour is Rubis, and the dark spots are from the strap hardware rubbing against the leather. If the dark spots bother you, Hermès Spa should have no trouble replacing those pieces of leather so they look brand new.

Looking at pictures online, I think you're right that it's Rubis! It's the most gorgeous dark red with a hint of pink.

Thank you for your thoughts about the marks. I'm okay with them, as this is going to be an everyday bag, but I hadn't seen them on other bags so they gave me pause.

Thank you, as always, for sharing your knowledge, r luvs h.

Could this be the Sac Hydra from the 1970s?

Ok, thanks. This is the exact information I was looking for.

Maybe something like Étrusque Ostrich, though it would greatly help if you posted a full picture of the item and gave us an idea of its production year.
Hi dear, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, its a random screenshot I took long time ago when I was working on my autumn color type wardrobe ideas and i cannot recall where it came from I just know its Hermes ostrich but no idea of anything else.

Any idea on the leather and the colour? I think it's clemence but can't understand if it's rouge H. Many thanks

This cannot be Rouge H which has black resin. You are correct that the leather is Clemence, and I agree with @textilegirl that the colour is Rouge Garance. If not that, then maybe Rouge Vif. Do you know the production year for this item?

Agreed not Rouge H IMO. Also this is a really good example of how inaccurate photo colors can be because the first and second pic just read completely different to me on my screen (1st much warmer with orange tones but 2nd much cooler bluer red). I’m assuming this is an older bag because of the dust bag and as mentioned above, as always year of production helps!
