Piping

First, the leather around the piping (called "welting" on upholstery) of my black leather coach bag has become very "dry" and faded. Is there any solution for this?

If the solution is to get the piping replaced, then will Coach also replace the leather covering the piping?

Also, is there any way to prevent this from happening in the future? This started happening to my bag not too long after I got it.

this happened to a wallet i had with piping - i figured it was normal wear and tear - and had bought it at a consignment store (though it was new) so i didnt take it to coach

I had a bag with suede piping and it started to come off revealing the dark red cord beneath. It was a light pink bag! I sent it back to Coach and they couldn't fix it, so they sent me credit. Did you try putting the Coach moisturizer on it?
