The tassels feel exactly like the previous years do....how can they be better or stronger?? I don't think so.

I just got my 08 Anthra PT from BalNY yesterday. This is my first time owning a PT but I noticed the handles are much flimsier than my other bbags (including my Argent City). I'm glad to hear it's not just my bag. Here's some pics of how bendable the new handles are for those who are wondering:

I haven't posted in this section of the forum in a while (been lost in Chanel), but reading this thread I felt that it might be useful to reveal what I saw at Barney's BH today. I was looking at a one of the new purple (maybe Sapphire?) Firsts w/ leather-covered hardware. It actually looks quite nice.
However, on closer inspection, I saw that the leather covering on of the studs on the front of the bag had torn open and the plain metal stud underneath was showing.See this, I picked at it a bit w/ my fingernail :shame: and it tore open even more, and I got to see the thickness of the leather "covering" on the studs. It's super thin and delicate... almost like a membrane of sorts. It made me really nervous as I could imagine it very easily tearing open if a fingernail or something scraped against it. I think I will be sticking w/ the plain uncovered studs for my next bag when I get it.
i haven't seen the leather covering actually coming off, but i have seen it looking scuffed or worn. i don't like the covered hardware from an aesthetic standpoint but i don't think it works well from a practical standpoint either -- anything that sticks out is going to be subject to more wear.

I called and asked about that and was told that it's just sealed better to prevent fraying
Regarding the flimsier handles....I think I like them better. I've been using my PT for a couple days and the softer handles are more comfortable and stay on my shoulder better
First of all: ahahahaha to the pic of you "bending" your handles. It looks so completely silly to me that I started giggling like a little girl!! I like how just *one* finger bends the handles right around the other way.
Second, would you keep us posted on the wear and tear of the handles? I don't doubt that they're more comfy but wonder how they'll wear....

I like anthra too, surprisingly. But alas, along with many of our fellow PFers, I'm not shelling out extra bucks for less bbag.
The next time I'm at NM, I'm gonna actually check out the bags and the handles. Forgot to do that last week.
Someone else mentioned that even the dustbags are different this season. I believe it was ladyisolbel who said that they're thinner???!!!!

I change my bags every month, so they may hold up better than those that use their bags more frequently than I do.

So Balenciaga claim that the new tassels shouldn't split anymore, hence no longer providing spare tassels. It's been nearly two months since i bought my Sapphire Day and so far the new tassels are holding up really well - no signs of splitting at all. Anyone finding the same?
Also, my Day was really shiny when i first got it which i wasn't too keen on, but it seems to be a little less shiny now, anyone else find the same?
