Phoebe Philo is launching her own brand backed by LVMH!!

I was curious about the bags as I love the old Céline bags. But her own bag drop is very uninspired... The tote even looks like the Marcella tote from Gianni Chiarini...

I think I’d rather shop a number of other brands or vintage. When PP first started designing (was it for Stella McC bf she launched her own eponymous line? ), she really seemed to know her demographics needs and price points. Back then, I don’t recall it being more lux than the old Jil Sander et al. Now, it seems like the Row crossed with Khaite on steroids.

She was co CD with Stella at Chloe. Karl was livid!

They wanted PP as the designer and Stella as the media-friendly and baitable 'name' (at least that was the rumour).. Stella left to form her own company 50/50 with Kering, then bought the 50% back. Not sure if they remained friends.

I think PP is out of touch. She needs to elevate or go extreme, anything but same ol' again and again.

Did anyone else get an email from Bergdorf's that they're going to be selling Phoebe Philo starting 4/11??
I read about this online! If anyone goes in store I’d love to see what the drive bag in dun color or lipstick red looks like :). Also curious about the quality of the bags! I haven’t found any online reviews.

I went. Incredible quality and construction on all her bags. The kit cabas (the bag with the metal plate in the top middle) is the best one of all I think.

Saw Phoebe Philo now available at 10 Corso Como in Milan… impressed with the quality! The leather is so luxe-feeling, I especially loved the kit Cabas! Also the lock mechanism is unlike any lock I’ve ever seen before, very unique. I liked the proportions of medium version better than the smaller one. The bag is lightweight and I like that it has two large zip compartments. The only thing, when it comes to her brand, I don’t like the price point, feels too overpriced for what it is. Over 4k€ for a bag for a new brand, even if it’s Phoebe, it’s just too much in the current economy

The Drive bag, on the other hand, didn’t impressed me at all functionality-wise, the bag feels too heavy due to metallic structure to have the straps so thin… The Gig bag doesn’t have any inside zip/slip pockets, just divided in 3 compartments, which is a dealbreaker for me.

I also saw Maxmara doing their own take on the Kit Cabas for under 1500€ which is a great alternative I think!

I also saw the pieces at the Dover Street Market in Paris! I have to say I am very unimpressed with the quality though.. The bags were okay but I can't justify the price points at all .. I like the design of the CABAS bag but the construction of the bag isn't the best
And lets not even talk about the clothes 😂 16.000 Euros for a sherling coat that feels like polyester (and looks so cheap too!)
Strange, I would think that with such simple silhouettes the quality of fabric and construction becomes even more important, since there's no elaborate design to 'hide' flaws.

I liked the leather, but her price point is definitely excessive, I would mostly put her bags into under 2000-3000k max category I would could decide the pricing, it’s same as The Row for me, overpriced for what it is…
