I think the do initials on other items as well but the technique is a bit different and there might still be some restrictions in which items they offer the personalization services. They do heatstamping and also initials by painting them on the canvas. In Mon Monogram items the initials and stripes are sealed under the coating so it's more durable and won't chip off.
 
My first post!
Took 32 days before I received the shipment confirmation. My first new LV! All my others are prelvoed. I love her so much!

This is her after 2 months of use. Can't wait for her to get darker. The other pictures are her fresh out of the box, plus a group shot. Sorry for the low quality I just couldn't wait to share.

Yes i do. Well i just called again this morning and i guess the guy last night must have spelled my name wrong or something because the woman found my order right away!!! ..lol I am relieved. Its still showing in progress. i ordered it on the 28th of april so i am hoping it will be here sometime next week. :)
 
HELP!

I have had my Mon Mono Speedy 35 for less than a week and there is already a chip in the paint on the back of the bag. I am very careful with the bag, so I cannot imagine what sort of damage will be done over time.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?

Unfortunately - it's like the other silkscreened items (groom, multicolor) - they will chip and peel over time - but it shouldn't be that fast! I'd take it in right away - insist - absolutely insist - on a replacement. I would expect this in six months to a year or so, but not in less than a week.

They have 10 years warranty ;)

There is no 10 year warranty on LV. This is a fallacy unfortunately. Wish it were true but it is not. It's been at least 20 years since they did. Believe me, if they did, you would have something in writing or on your receipt. This is kind of an old wives tale that gets perpetuated sometimes. Wish it was true. But it's not. OP just take it in as soon as you can. You shouldn't have a problem, but the sooner the better. All you need to do to prove there is no warranty is to ask for a copy of the warranty in writing. There just isn't any such thing. Luckily, LV is still pretty good about repairing and replacing defects. Not sure how this will play out over time with the outsourcing they are doing now.

That's my SA told me about the MON MONO!
I asked her last week about the mon mono
if something happens ( chipping ) because
I'm getting one .. She said to me that it
supposed to be good for 10 years and if
something happens in period of time from
the day you have it .. They will definitely
change it !!! Now, that's for MON MONO
only .. That's what she said .. If she's
wrong or right ... When I get my MON
MONO ... I will double check again :)
 
I'm really sad hearing all these chipping stories. :cry: Especially when others have had their bags for years without chipping. Everyone please post updates on what LV says. If this happens to my bag I personally wouldn't want it replaced, I'd want a credit towards something else because I too was told that it would NEVER chip. (Which I know is a fallacy.) I check my bag constantly and so far have only worn it with maxi dresses, I'm afraid anything else will create too much friction and definitely make it chip.

In regards to the ten year warranty, someone else said their SA told them that too and I just don't think it's true. I wish it was, but it seems false. My SA never mentioned a 10 year warranty. It seems like some SAs are telling this to people to make them buy the bag.

Ask for the "10 year warranty" in writing. You'll have your answer. I'd never trust the verbal word of any sales person trying to make a sale. I have a close friend that is a SA. There is no 10 year warranty on any LV item. This has been confirmed by leather goods manager and store manager. It's just not true. With any store, if there is a warranty, legally you can ask for a copy. So challenge your SA. Ask for a copy. Your answer will be loud and clear. And without a legal written copy, you are 100% out of luck. You'll just be told it wasn't true and the SA shouldn't have told you that. You wouldnt have a legal leg to stand on 5 years down the road. There just is no such thing. Believe me, if there was, LV would market it all over the place. You'd get a copy and it would be printed on your receipt. I'm a paralegal. I've heard fairly often on here of unethical SAs pulling this to make sales. It's just not true.

Sounds good - but do NOT take verbal word on something like this - no matter what either of them tell you. If it's honestly true, they can give it to you in writing, with all the legalese that goes along with it. Otherwise, it's just posturing.

I have had the same issue!, and so has my cousin on her Neverfull. I haven't contacted LV yet. I wonder what their response will be?. I wonder if it can be "touched up"?
Can you please post pics? I want to know what to look out for if it happens on my bag! So sorry this happened to your bags.
