Just like groom and other silkscreened items. They did tell me bags that rub against your clothes or body, like the neverful, are more likely to chip quicker just due to friction. I still like them but would probably go with a speedy or something that wouldn't be rubbing against your body, arms or clothing.

Thanks for the info, you always have real answers! Yeah I was thinking a speedy would probably last longer too. I was happy when I saw other ladies in this thread with older bags and they didn't have any chipping. Fingers crossed.

I'm probably going to take a chance too. They are really cute. Growing on me a lot! I think the chopping probably would be slight. I'm almost ready to not be practical. Don't know what's wrong with me lately. Doing a lot if things out of character. Bought a bleu lagoon Sarah of all things. Ha ha!

I'm with you on this one... I never thought I'd be seriously contemplating spending this kind of money on a NF... But I guess never say never! I think the Speedy is a better value but I'd really prefer to be able to wear it on the shoulder.

I guess I'll wait and see what you decide and copy you lol! I've already decided on vert Clair and jaune so just gotta decide on the bag...

I'm not too worried about the chipping at this point because my MC key holder gets more abused than my bags and it's still perfect except it gets dirty easily.

Ok, I"m starting to feel a little nervous..lol.

I bought mine to be my hockey/ baseball mom bag (sitting on bleachers, being stuffed, going in and out of locker rooms etc...) - I didn't realize that chipping was normal!

I wasn't really planning on babying it...But I guess it makes sense. Yikes, Maybe they shouldn't do the stripes on the BOTTOM of the bag if chipping is a problem. Or..maybe mon mono wasn't a good choice for a sports mom bag...LOL

So crazy because I had several SA's say it wouldn't chip. So I guess it's a crap shoot on how they'll respond if someone's bag does chip...

None, taken! Next time i am at my store, i will have to call her on this. I will ask her if you get a repair or replacement. I still love mon mono. :)

I'm not at all nervous about my bags chipping, I don't think that chipping is normal for mon mono.

If it was there would be alot of people complaining about this and there really isn't. I follow a lot of bag blogs and other hand bag forums and it doesn't seem to be an issue at all for LV...Goyard bags do have this issue which has made me hesitant on getting one, although I still think about adding one to my collection one day.

The silk screen application is not the same as the groom series accordingly to my SA. The mon mono is sealed where other LV silk screen applications are not. Which is why those items chip within months of use. I've had my speedy for over 2 years & my NF for over 19 months and no issues at all.

It does say in the mon mono care booklet to expect some "fading" of the colour over time & with use

Ive gotta admit that it wasn't love at first site *sigh* I thought the grey would be a different shade, like how it appeared to be on screen. It seems to have a bit of blue tone to it.

I think it is beautiful....I love the more subtle colors. And, for me I'd like the blue-ish undertone, but understand your initial disappointment. Hope it is growing on you. :flowers:

I have to agree with you. I do not think that chipping is normal for mon mono either. My SA said the exact same thing as yours. That the mon mono is sealed! I love the mon mono nf and speedy. So unique. i think this bag will look good over the years just as the others do. :)
