I prefer wearing diamond studs however that might be because my current pearls are just too big. I prefer dainty studs. I bought my BFF tiny pearl studs when she was my bridesmaid which she wears daily and they look stunning.

Both serve a purpose. I have both, but i wear my diamond studs as my everyday earrings. My pearls are used for specific outfits or occasions. During the fall and winter season I tend to wear them equally. I don't enjoy when my sweaters and scarves snag onto my prongs of my diamonds. Like someone mentioned earlier, you don't have to buy the best quality diamond studs for your ears. Good luck.

I voted diamonds but thinking:
Pros: wear 24/7
cons: if you lose one, it is a lot of $ to replace

I would also only select diamonds over pearls if you can get the size and quality that you are comfortable with.

Pearls:
cons-need to take them out every day
pros-could be more cost efficient, if you have a budget

I reached for my diamond studs over pearls, any day. But, lost one and now I need to replace it :(

I have both and consider they are very different. I'd wear them according to what I'm matching them with, the occasion, or even my mood. I have small seed pearls, larger pearl, black pearl studs and one pair of larger diamond studs.

The peal ones for me are more casual, I guess because of the price but I wear my diamond studs regularly too. I've never had a problem with the pearls being delicate, I've had mine for some years and they look great. If you're careful about spraying perfume and take a bit of care over them I don't see any issues.

If you can't get both, I'd just consider which would suit you best and what you'd wear them with although really anything goes and they both look great.

Ideally you should get both and no need to choose!
Sounds like you're a pearl lover like me, then make sure you save up and invest in the best quality, for me that's the South sea pearls.

It also depends what else you're wearing, e.g pearl earrings and diamond necklace compliment each other nicely without too much bling.

I had both (was heartbroken to lose one of my diamond studs this time last year and chose to sell the other one - will buy another pair when I can afford to buy the size and quality I want) and always favoured my diamond studs. At just over 1 cttw they were perfect for almost any occasion, I could wear them to work without looking ostentatious and for a dressier event too. That said, pearl studs are also a great earring staple. I want to get some now that I am saving to replace my diamond studs, but can't decide what size to get.
