Hi girls, I am ready to place an order with the Pearl Outlet as to date I have only heard great things about them and their pearls look wonderful on the site and the prices are great. They have also been extremely helpful and courteous when I had questions so for now I have chosen them.

However, now I am not sure whether I should proceed because of a couple of posts here but others only had good experience with them. Anyone can tell me if things went well, also the poster that just placed an order but that was back in January, I am curious to find out how it went.

I am interested in ordering a pair of Tahitian earrings and their lavender gem fresh necklace on sale this month. What surprised me is when I first wanted to order from them a year ago they had a lot more styles and wonder why their supply is so limited now but perhaps it is nothing to worry about.

Since I am in Europe shipping is about 40 dollars and would rather not lose that and return shipping if I do not have to. I do not know the other sources people mentioned on here at all but will check them out as well.

Thanks in advance!

Yes and somehow my instincts have always told me to go with the Pearl Outlet so I guess I will go with them for now, so many people have recommended it that it should go fine. The main thing is the quality of the pearls if there was a problem with the clasp I do not mind having that repaired but I do not think that will be an issue either. Their prices are just a lot better than Pearl Paradise prices and prefer the styles the Pearl Outlet has. Somehow, also on the PearlParadise site their pearls look really dull (the Tahitians) and since they cost a lot more I may as well go with the Pearl Outlet for now but still hope to hear from others what experiences they had with them. I will also let everyone know how it goes once I order from the Pearl Outlet.

Just an update i recd my pearls. I have also checked out mikimoto prior to purchase. The quality n price is way too high for me.

The pearls i recd, its not cheap compared to US pricing but the quality is really good. FOr me i feel that its comparable *in fact i feel better to the mikimoto i saw over here in my country. Maybe because they are the AA not AAA since price is ard 7-8k for 8-8.5mm.

Me? I didnt because my qn was not answered halfway through. maybe they missed it because they have a lot of mails to answer.i will leave u a pm instead because i post it up on my blog but i havent take further pics because too busy with my work at the moment. i really love the colors esp today after checking it up again against the sunlight.

I'm going to Beijing in July.
I have some nice pearls but would like some more. I have been hearing that there are good freshwaters to be bought in Beijing, especially at somewhere called the Hongqiao pearl market? But would someone really get a better deal there than buying online at a place like pearlparadise.com?

P.S. I think I'm in interested in pink/peach or multicolor freshwaters, as big (in terms of mm as possible)

Hongqiao is in Shanghai tho.

I'm going Beijing Sunday so I'll let you know. I'm going there to source beads too. Going to start importing to the US. Beads and pearls often are sold in the same places so I can check it out. Place I'm going to is called Silk something or other. In my experience, better deals always come in bulk. I remember you speak Mandarin so it should be easy to negotiate.

Good quality & size, pricing also not cheap even direct at their Pearl Market or Factory. If you are there on a tour package, it is definitely part of your itinerary. I been there before, bought 2 pearl necklaces for my mom, they are not really cheap since i wanted big even size, good round shape & quality. The Manager gave me a big discount however it is still not really a value buy in my opinon. Take your time to chose, do not make impulse buy.

I rather go Hong Kong buy South Sea Pearls, they have such nice huge pearls, remember caveat emptor rule applies.

In every purchase, what you pay is what you get; you pay peanuts; you get monkey. Super good buy at low price is literally impossible in this era. Of coz there is always a need to bargain & negotiate for a reasonable best price you are comfortable with.

You mean Silk Street/Market, it just one of those so called big mall wholesale market. Prices cheaper there but must be careful in making purchase, chances of getting fake stuffs are high at such places. Do not look, touch or ask unless you are interested in their stuffs, the people there can be very persistant & irritating.

Thanks, Designer Homme.
I am not there on a tour but with a business group. We will be having meetings and they will take us as a group to the the main sites such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, but I have heard of no plans to take us shopping. This is why I am trying to do my own research.

I know that good quality is not cheap and just was wondering if you get a deal in china at all as opposed to such reputable internet sites as pearlpalace.com. I realize also that south seas and tahitians can't be bought as any kind of bargain in China but was wondering if in Beijing I might be able to get a good deal on the largest possible freshwaters (especially freshadamas.)
Any advice on this?
Also, how do you say freshwater or freshadama in chinese? I know that a pearl is a zhenzhu but have no idea how to make distinctions between different types of pearls and a more specialized vocabulary would be helpful.
Thanks!
