Pearl Education (Warning: Somewhat of a Rant)

I am a jewelry FREAK from looooong ago (many many many decades :D )and my pearls and diamonds come exclusively from Japster. (www.futurefashionista.com)

She creates brilliant concepts and executes them flawlessly at bench in her studio....she is a pearl/jewel artisan, truly one of a kind, and I am amazed and so happy that I know her and can count her as my top expert pearl/jewel artisan.

It's such a relief when looking to invest $$$ in pearls/jewels to meet someone who so absolutely knows their medium and their creative/production process and can advise you on your special pieces, and then price extremely fairly.

She's Quality - Brilliance - Integrity - Innovation - all in one package. Honestly, I think Elana is in a class by herself, right there at the top.

Here's one of my favorites from Elana - my diamond drop pearls. They are 1.7 ct (vs1-2 d-f) diamond encrusted 13 mm south sea pearls.

I love pearls...all kinds of pearls from high end to the cheapy brightly colored kinds. They fascinate me and I own way too many unfinished strands.

I hope that folks will consider supporting indie artists who work in top quality pearls and gems. I've made two or three necklaces for ladies here and they seem all pleased. Not everyone is out to scam or cheat. I actually created a necklace last year with Akoyas that were STUNNING to work with. Their texture and luster was so obviously better than any I'd ever seen before. It was a pleasure. And now I want to make myself one. :)

Pretty work in your sig, CC. Just so you know, when I tried to click on the link to your website, my anti-virus program went nuts, spouting alerts all over the screen and saying that your Casto Creations website was infected. I think they described it as an exploited or exploiting site? I don't know what's up with that, but it was a pretty frightening alert.

I'm sure that Japster will forgive me for snitching the stock photos of the pearls I bought from her. I've declared an absolute "modeling photo" ban that will never be broken. Anyway, these are three of my Future Fashionista beauties: A white and golden SS and tahitian baroques with hand-crafted 18kt and diamond beads, A long SS and Tahitian baroques with keshi pearls, and a long strand of pistachio tahitians with 22kt gold beads.

I've never seen anything like them, and I get complimented every time I wear them.

I might look at FF for tahitian earrings, but it looks like everything is a bit out of my price range :( I'd kill for these or these if they were round. They do look spectacular though, but I can't swing $2000 earrings at the moment I can't decide now: Should I go for some diamond tahitian earrings that will be a show-stopper for semi-formal/formal events, or should I get something a bit more casual? I'm torn between .27 ct, or swizzle. I think I might just wait for druzydesigns to come through with something stunning!

callire, why would you keep buying pieces that are cheaper but not wonderful quality when if you buy less and spend a little bit more, you can get fewer pieces that are much better quality. Cheap is fun for disposable things. But there are times and reasons for paying more for better quality.

callire, congrats on your strand! Gorgeous!!! And a total bargain

katel
, wow your earrings are stunning!!! :faint:

Can't wait for my strands to arrive :yahoo:
I love pearls and I think much better quality for me would mean I'd save them for occasions, while cheaper and fun strands are versatile for daily use! I love them all

callire, your strand is truly a steal & they are gorgeous, way beyond gorgeous!!!

katel, your Japster-designed earrings are elegant!

gga, those baroques by Japster are beautiful!!!
