'I have to lose this extra 10lbs': Frighteningly thin Peaches Geldof sparks concern as she brags about her dangerous diet
Worryingly thin Peaches Geldof has drawn damning criticism for almost boasting about how she has achieved her dramatic weight loss.
The 22-year-old has described how she can lose ten pounds by living off nothing but vegetable juice for a month.
One dietician called the starlet 'braindead' and said she is risking 'acute cardiac arrest.'
According to OK! magazine, Peaches said: 'I do juicing. You juice vegetables and then you drink it three times a day. It's gross. I do it usually for about a month.'
'I have no willpower but with the juicing I'm like, 'I have to do it because I have to lose this extra ten pounds.'
Providing little reassurance that she has a healthy attitude to food, she added: 'I will lose it then I'm back going mental for the chips.'
'I'll juice and then I eat chips.'
Peaches appears to have lost a tremendous amount of weight already, worrying fans with reports of dining on miso soup and little else.
And in recent months, admitted she still has days when she wakes up and thinks 'I'm so fat.'
She attempted to provide some reassurance that her dieting is not out of control in August by tweeting: 'To those telling me I look skinny and to eat something, I can assure you I've just cut out eating crap.
'I still eat like a horse.'
But the star has confessed that she feels very aware of the pressure to be thin in the media spotlight.
'Sometimes it's hard. If you open any high-fashion magazine, the girls in it are stick-thin and then they've been airbrushed down to the point where it's just ludicrousness,' she said, the Sun reports.
'I have days when I wake up and think, 'I'm so fat.'
Cath Collins, a spokeswoman for the British Dietetic Association, told The Sun: 'Peaches joins a long line of celebs who are braindead when it comes to nutrition.'
'Surviving on fruit is a very dangerous diet.'
'Peaches is at high risk of electrolyte abnormalities which could lead to acute cardiac arrest.'
'Rapid dieting like this not only makes you lose muscle strength but wastes away your internal organs.'
'It is what kills anorexics. It is a stupid approach and it is irresponsible to promote this sort of disordered eating.'
'It's worrying that somebody who has money and access to contacts would pick such a ridiculous way to diet.'
Peaches showed off her waif-like physique at The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo premiere at the Odeon in Leicester Square on Monday.
She cuddled up to her rock singer boyfriend Thomas Cohen as she posed on the red carpet- displaying her brand new engagement ring.
Peaches is due to be married for the second time, having previously tied the knot with drummer Max Drummey in Las Vegas in 2008 after knowing him for just one month.
