Not sure if this is the right place for this question. Has anyone ever paid for an item through western union using a credit card? I am trying to purchase a bag and the seller wants me to pay that way as they do not have a paypal account. I am just not sure of the protection in case something happens.

One word: no. Your credit card may offer you chargeback but anyone asking you to pay other than PayPal will sound extremely fishy and I wouldn't risk it. Besides how hard is it to open a PayPal account unless your seller is wary about it. Either way it's not worth the risk especially if there's an off chance your seller will run away from with money plus keeping the item at the same time.

I would not pay for anything via western union.

If this is an ebay transaction, tell your seller you want to pay via paypal...

Protection.... none via western union or wire bank transfer.. read the threads here
about paying this way

Is this a domestic or interntional transaction out of curiousity??
