Went to the municipality pawn shop again. I found a lovely classic eternity ring at a good price. It has a total carat worth of 1,25 carats. I will post some pics tomorrow. It looks really nice with my wedding ring. Thanx for the inspiration Onegirlcreative!

omg, monica!!! that's amazing. i cannot wait to see the ring. please post ASAP!!!

that is what i am always on the hunt for at pawn shops—eternity rings! i found one really thin one but it doesn't look good with my e-ring because it's yellow gold mostly, so i wear it with my other eternity ring when i don't want to wear my e-ring.

i can't wait to see it.

Is that a new find you are referring to or one of the rings on your pictures? I sooo love your collection of eternity rings!

My latest arrived this morning. 14K gold dome ring with multi natural gemstones. Very cool!!!!

sorry to ask a stupid question but I read that some of you can find eternity bands for only 100$ and under in pawn shops. That means that the original owners received only a few dollars for it? How can people give there bands that retail for 500-1000$ for so less money? Or are these CZ?
In second hand jewelry store I know, the best prices you can get is around half the retail price.

Sorry for the extreme blurry pics. I promise to post better pics. I found this classic eternity ring at the municipality pawn shop for 350 euro. Total carats: 1,25. I love to wear this ring with my wedding ring.

well, my recent eternity ring that i purchased was $60, but it's nothing compared to monica's recent find. it's just something simple and plain and i figure for the price, why not? i keep looking and hoping i'll find an eternity band like the one monica scored, it's just a matter of patience.

i honestly have no idea how it works as far as what someone selling will receive, or what the shop will pay. i have never sold anything much of value when it comes to jewelry—just stupid promise rings, that's it.

but, every pawn shop i have been to has a diamond authenticator. they want to make sure that what they're buying is real, not CZ. same thing with someone like me who buys, i want to ensure its authenticity. not only that, once i buy it, i immediately go to my local jeweler just up the street from me, and have him double check that it's real diamonds, because if it was fake and they sold it to me claiming it was real, you're darn right i'm going to return it immediately thereafter. but so far, i have been lucky.

I'm also surprised about the low prices of some jewelry. I guess we buy a mark-up for brand and design. At pawn shops only the gold price per weight counts.

I've bought my ring from a municipality pawn bank. The city owns several pawn banks. When customers do not collect their jewelry or when they prefer immediate money, the jewelry are auctioned. I guess the most beautiful pieces are sold at the auctions. As only packages of several rings/bracelets etc. are sold, the auctions are not preferred by most people. If pieces are not auctioned, they are sold at the shop.

All jewelry are checked. Only real gold/diamonds are accepted.

that sounds interesting. do you live overseas, because i have never heard of that here in the states. not that there isn't anything like that, just never heard of it.

UnfortunatelyI CAN answer you on this one. Right before my husband and I were married one of our movers stole his wedding ring. I don't remember the carat weight now, but there are 9 fairly large E VVS1 princess diamonds in there. White gold. We paid $2000 at a local jeweler, and that was a STEAL.
Anyhow it was a week or more before I noticed the ring was gone, the police fingerprinted with no results. Lucky for me a great detective got assigned the case, followed through, and found my ring at a local pawn shop. The way it works in Missouri, we have to buy back our stolen items from the pawn stores. In return the pawnstores have a running inventory that they post for the police to see. Whatever. So I know for a fact that the person who stole the ring was given $75, and thats what I paid to get it back.
