I agree with thoughts above... I like both Ramona and Riki... I find the Ramona to be the best fit for me... I also think the Ramona seems even larger in patent than in leather...

Bummer about the "fine print"...I would have loved a "double discount"...

Hmmm...khaki Ramona...

$1850...10%...$1665 (save $185)...plus tax (about wipes out savings)...or...

$1850...$300 gift card (if I also buy the Gucci boots)...no tax if I shop through one of my Saks SAs...

Or wait...

I like your thinking on the $1850 + boots + $300 gift card + 0(tax)!!! I was thinking of something along those lines as well, except that saks online still charges tax to the states I would get it delivered to. :push:

BTW, I don't know if this would still work, :idea:but the last time saks offered gift cards, a coworker of mine returned a dress that had bumped her into the next gift card category ... and she didn't have to give up the gift card or turn it in for a lesser gift card amount!!

I saw the leather Riki earlier this week and it was definitely smaller than the patent ramona. If you have seen the Riki and think it's a great size for you, than you might find the patent ramona a bit too big. The ramona, and especially the patent version, seemed to be bigger than my large muse that I had with me.

Thanks for posting about the sizes... I've seen the Riki in leather before and always thought it was a "small" bag... But it seemed to be the "right" size for me in patent--I thought that was odd. Good to know that the patent versions seem a little bigger. I put my wallet and makeup bag in there and it seemed pretty roomy.

I do like the size of the large Muse, but I think with the hardware and the rouching, maybe the Ramona would be a little much. Plus I did fall in love with the Riki :p I might have to go rescue her tomorrow after work when my regular SA is there!

Just when I convinced myself that I would hold off on buying the ramona, saks comes along and plagues me with more ramona temptation today?!! :wtf: I'm really trying to be , but I still have 6 hours or so in the day to change my mind.

SoCal, did you end up ordering the :heart:Khaki Ramona:heart: and the Gucci boots???

I called my "no tax" Saks, but the SA indicated they only had 1 in stock and it had been "handled"...

A sign?

Oh, no!! Saks NYC had a khaki and brown out on their floor on Monday, and they were both looking a little :smash: . You could definitely notice it in the leather. Can she get a non-violated khaki ramona from another store (maybe one that hasn't been on the floor) and ship that to you?

Just so you know, if you JUST get the Ramona, you'd only get a $125 gc today BUT you can use the 10% off coupon (SHOPJULY) and get $165.00 off--that's a better deal. I don't know when the coupon expires, but I think it might go for a few more days...

I've decided that the fine print on the saks.com gift card offer has made my decision for me. I thought I could take advantage of the $300 gift card by ordering the ramona and something else to make up the difference, but later returning the second item to the store.

However, buried in the fine print of the offer is a notice that gift cards can be adjusted for returns. My co-worker also confirmed that she was lucky when she similarly returned an item, but did not have to exchange her gift card. She said the SA never checked the back of her store receipt where the amount of her gift card was indicated. I figure it would be more difficult to accomplish the same thing with an online receipt where the gift card amount might be indicated on the front of the document.

So, I'm going to be good and wait to get the ramona. I can always use that 10% off some other time.

BTW, Wickedassin, I can't wait to see pics of the Riki if you decide to get it!!
