Parts of LV made in CHINA?

My sleeper is made in India. I know Italy make many lines of bags, and they are made by mainly Chinese workers brought to Italy on work visas.
So even if your bag is made in Italy it is still made by Chinese workers, so I don't see much difference. Sewing is sewing, and I just hope the workers are getting paid enough to live on.

Haha that is totally inaccurate. I toured the Italian factory twice and it's all European workers.

sorry I didn't mean to say that LV was made in Italy. I was just going off track to say that some brands are Made in Italy by Chinese workers. I was told this several years ago when I toured Italy. The tour guide drove us by the leather factory's and tanneries.
He said they call the Chinese workers in the leather factories "mosquitos" as the english translation from Italian. he also said when they have tours it is planned so the business people don't see the foreign workers. I was really surprised to hear this on the tour.
I'm glad it's not true.

What's the deal if indeed some lv parts are made in china? China is not equal to low quality. They produce some of the reliable brands. I actually bought the one plus one phone (had it imported from china) and it is very durable and reliable. Got it when it was first released and it is still working flawlessly (though i gave it to my husband last year because i have 2 phones already). But i was very, very pleased with that product. For me it proves that not all goods coming from china is low quality.

I agree that China makes many top quality things. I don't mind Chinese workers making handbags in Italy. I think whomever can do the work to the level of the brands requirements is good, and ethnic group or country of origin should not be a factor.

I think the biggest complaint would be the price point. A lot of customers are willing to pay top dollar because they know employees' compensation and working conditions meet European / American standards.

Not all china factories have poor working standards. And this is a bag. If it's food, i may be more wary.
You can't compare and equate the salary and compensations an employee earns working in a French LV factory (which includes universal healthcare and five weeks of paid vacation) to the working conditions of a factory worker making Michael Kors bags in China.

What are you trying to say? Sorry i dont want to assume

You cant compare michael kors with lv bags too. In terms of the materials used there is already a big difference. So i dont get how the salary plays into the argument wherein i buy the bags i love irregardless of where it is made. It's the quality, the workmanship and the materials, for me, should what matter the most.

And so as just you know, i work in a multinational company where we have factories in china, and they get healthcare and vacation too. Should i be concerned that the workers in china or in any part of asia for that matter is being paid less than the workers in America and Europe? China's government strategy is to provide low cost labor. Should we question that? The problem is the general perception of factories in China. While yes there are some factories in china that may have crap standards, but please let us not assume that just because it is made in china then it's a bad thing.

What I am saying is that the vast majority of clients are happy to pay $1000 or more for a bag made in Europe or in the USA, but would not pay the same price for the same bag if it were manufactured in China because we know very well that the cost of manufacturing is far inferior in Asia.

Will i pay the same price for a mk bag just because it is made in europe and usa? Of course not. That's what i am also trying to say. And it just so sad for people to have prejudice against something being made in china with the assumption that they are inferior. The world is full of prejudices. Just sad.

I did not say anything about the quality of the product. Don't twist my words please. This has to do with manufacturing cost.

Exactly. You were the first one to compare mk with lv. In terms of manufacturing cost, lets say mk will be manufactured in usa and Europe where there is a high manufacturing cost, and will sell their bags at $1000, will you buy it? Geesh. I rest my case.

I was comparing two different companies: one that manufactures in Europe and one that manufactures in China. That's it.
I still don't know what your "case" is... but obviously this thread has pushed your buttons! BYEEE
