hi all. Anyone experienced the Parker chain strap discoloring and tarnishing badly? See photo - most of the chain parts became black or bright copper.

I have not been able to use my bag for some months now and I just noticed the straps just look awful. I text the Coach store SA and they said it’s due to sweat or perfume .... and asked me to send it to a bag spa for repair.... I’m just bummed as this bag is quite new. Anyone has tips on how I cam fix this DIY? will using some brasso help?

Thats just terrible...

Ugh. That would be really disappointing. I wonder if it’s an issue with more the brass hardware. I have 2 Parker’s and I just checked them. One is 1.5 years old, and the other about 4 months. They both still look new, however one is gunmetal hardware, and the other is silver. I do have a few LV pieces that have the matte brass hardware, and that tends to tarnish too (compared to their shiny hardware). Interesting.

Yeah the other Parker I had (gunmetal chain) is alright .... no issues. But this particular one with the brass chain.... arghhh. Actually the entire bag still looks new (had it for 1 year) but the chain strap .... arghhh.

Has it been over a year, or just close to the year mark? If it’s under a year I would hope they’d honor the warranty. I do know people use brasso, but that would be a large undertaking due to the chain strap being intertwined with leather. It would be doable if you went slow though.

Thanks. I went to the store and they allowed me a full exchange with another Parker. Really relieved, otherwise I think I might have to go with brasso slowly cleaning each chain link....

Anyone have the Parker top handle? I was just wondering if it hangs strange since the strap attaches in the back instead of the sides. Also, does the top handle get in the way when wearing crossbody, or does it fold down? I’m looking at the black quilted one. Thanks!

Still sitting pretty like a shelf decor. Maybe it will come out for Valentine's day.
Has your Parker made it off of the shelf yet? I scored an Apple red one on the outlet site for a great price and am waiting to receive it. Hoping I love the red shade IRL and hoping no issues with the hardware. Would love to see more photos as I eagerly await her arrival

Still haven't used it. I'm on a date with Cadet Cooper today. It's very close to 1941 red but just slightly cooler tone than 1941 red.
