That baby was probably the youngest person who's ever attended a H sale!
Well well, for Beatles that's a different story. I wouldn't all that crazy at all!
Unfortunately I won't be going this July! Good luck with those who are!
Ah! youth and the Beatles--thank you for your support!
Also, thank you for pointing newcomers to the rather lengthy discussions and suggestions regarding the sales at Porte Maillot. It must be boring to have to read/reply to the same questions every year---and the anecdotes are fun to read from those who shopped!
Very, very important overlap in addition to the General French Soldes (Sales) in Paris, is that the Hermes sale dates also are running during the Haute Couture Shows --July 2 through July 7th; Accessories Shows and Mens Shows end of June through approx July 5 or 6. At least it is not September so that all the decor, antique and RTW shows also compete for hotel rooms, taxis, standing room on Metro, Eurostar tickets, etc!
This is also more complicated this year by numbers coming to France and UK for the big celebrations for the Queen and the Olympics---reservations are almost impossible to get now, so plan accordingly.
All these fashion shows and people from Vogue, Elle, etc plus front row types will probably also go to the various Hermes stores in Paris---no idea if they would bother with standing in line for Hermes sale. But the Hermes stores will be extra extra busy and crowded and competitive for few handbags there may be in stock.
As for Hermes RTW on sale---if I could afford it I would buy it! It is very very beautiful and elegant even if not this season---there are classics and if you love Hermes leathers what is better than a suede or leather skirt?
In January there were no belts, few slg, some boots and shoes and ties, scarves, men shirts and RTW.
Enjoy! But expect more crowding, street traffic and delays than usual.
