Thanks all for the great advice :flowers:.
I am waiting for confirmation if I will be there on these dates indeed. First they said yes but now maybe it's going to be the end of Juli so I have no concrete plans yet.
Fingers crossed. If I can make a stop in Paris in Juli, I think taxi is the way to go for me as it seems that the Metro is closed in the early morning. And as much as I love H. sales, if I am alone, I would definitely not take the last metro the night before and wait all night long. Brrrr...no, then I rather take a taxi.
If I say 'Porte Maillot' or 'Palais de Congres' please, I can't go wrong, right? I think all the taxi drivers know these place, no?

The first metro departs from terminus at 5.30am so unless you want to be earlier than that, you should be fine. By all means take a taxi if you prefer. I'm sure the taxi drivers will be familiar with either destinations.

For anyone trying to go very, very early, please know that the Metro is closed in the extreme early morning hours.

Hi Perigord - will you be heading to Paris for this summer sales? Am seriously tempted again this year and would love to catch up with you again in Paris

:sneaky: I'm planning a trip to paris for this year. I'm a newbie so want to know can anyone go to the sale? is the sale only in paris or is it other locations to like the UK H store? TIA.

Anyone can go to the sale on the public days, which is Wed till Sat. There had been sales in other locations such as London. But the selection at other locations had been a lot less than the one in Paris. For example, London only had shoes and RTW plus small accessaries like hats or gloves, men's ties etc. no scarves or jewellery or SLG.

Thank you for that.

What are the chances of scoring a constance Mini Epsom PHW in the store sale? Is it wishful thinking. What is the cost of one these beauties at retail?

I've seen some on *bay at $7000+ :girlsigh:

No such bags at the sales.
At the moment they are even difficult to find at the stores...
You have a thread with the current prices of bags in this subforum ;)

The same in Luxembourg, only RTW, shoes and hats/gloves, no silks or leather at all.

I remember reading in past threads that someone suggested NOT getting the first metro in the morning but to get the last one the night before! Sounds really crazy but I never went that early. The earliest I got there was 12 noon.

Guilty as charged! Only did it once long ago! Never would do it in Winter. And you must use the buddy system---toilet breaks, water, coffee, brioche, someone to lean on, etc. But you can check your coats, etc before entering sale, so we even slept (probably about an hour) and we had left over red wine to keep us warm--cement floors are not warm at all! We were not the only ones---a husband and wife from Japan with a great bottle of sake plus some truly hard core Hermes lovers. By 6:30 or 7 AM there actually was a significant line---all cheering each other on for coffee runs and morning papers!

Remember not to wear or carry any Hermes!

So is July 4th some reward for USA fans of Hermes?

Please note: the Big Summer sales in Paris actually begin a bit later than usual this year--running from June 27 through July 31st as mandated by law. Usually the first day of the Hermes sale starts on the first day of the Paris sales, so this seems different as it is week later. But then London has the Queen reign and the Olympics and fashion show calendars in both Paris and London are also changed for 2012--just a reminder for shopping addiction sharers so no one misses opportunities!

Oh my god! I truly admire what you did Morgan09! I can never do it that way, not with friends or boyfriend or anybody. When I was queuing in Jan, I saw this Japanese woman a few positions in front of me, she had her baby strapped on her shoulders! And standing up waiting for 3.5 hours! No they didn't have a buggy so baby stayed on her all the way through! What a woman would do for H!

Yes, definitely not quite sane! But with a baby! That is too too much! But I bet the kid will have a great eye for Hermes!

Only other time I ever did anything so, well, crazy, was waiting in line with friends for the first Beatles concerts in USA---but I was super young and Ringo was soooo cute!

LOL

Good luck shopping!

That baby was probably the youngest person who's ever attended a H sale!

Well well, for Beatles that's a different story. I wouldn't all that crazy at all!

Unfortunately I won't be going this July! Good luck with those who are!
