wow... that is crazy! i hope mine doesnt do that, but at least it can be shortened if it does. i dont sleep or shower with mine on, and i slide it on and off like a bangle (instead of doing the clasp) so it shouldnt wear out. i never wouldve guessed these would stretch, so weird!

It is not from opening the clasp as to why it has worn. It is due to it moving around (the chain inside the hole) just with wear - there is a lot of weight in the beads when full. The clasp is still very tight to open.
Down the track I am sure I will need a new clasp and I will just use this one as a "bead". My gold heart clips on my bracelet have started to wear as well - when they get to the stage where they won't stay in place I will use them as beads as well and get some more. One is starting to slide of the clip area but it doesn't do it all the time so I am happy to wait for a while. It is not an expense I want/need at present.

Girls, I am busting at the seams!! I just went to an antique store, browsed around and I found a pandora bracelet for $50!!! It is the silver one with the gold clasp and there are tons of beads on it. I added up the retail cost of what I got and it was over $1,000!!!! Can you believe it!!

I already had one silver bracelet that I received as a mother's day gift, and I had my sights set on building a second bracelet, so finding this one was a tremendous blessing!!

Congrats to you!

I have a friend who works full time at a charity shop and an avid flea market visitor. She said it is amazing what people throw out or sell. Soild 18ct antique fob chains all links stamped, rings, gold brooches to name a few. Either they are elderly and can't see what they are throwing out or I think it must be deceased estates and it all gets bundled up and "thrown" to charity. Perhaps yours was a present from a now X - why else would you get rid of this? (and then I wouldn't!)

She got at a boot sale not long ago a 1950's ring for $10. It didn't look real to me but now it is reset - OMG! and worth $$$

Wow, congratulations! That's incredible. Can you post a picture for us?

Ohhhh I got that one last time. I was out of the house again today and missed the stuff I was interested in. Oh well maybe next time.

I got one last time also, for myself, but then my daughter said she wanted one, so I had to keep checking. I literally check her site several times a day if I'm home, and I had walked by my computer 10 minutes before she listed and nothing was there. When I walked by it again I thought "oh, I'll just check again, but she probably won't have anything" -- and there they were -- 38 items, including the safety chain. Within about 15 minutes it was down to 8 items. Crazy!

I am not sure who asked but... I do have several retired "Stop sign" spacers. They are my favorite silver spacers and when they were retired, a long time ago, I snapped all that my favorite retailer had (they were very very inexpensive when I got them and were on clearance).

I have been doing a bit of Googling on a very cold miserable day and found this link where they make personalised beads.

http://www.jewelleryuniquetoyou.com.au/

They do two sizes one has 10 characters and the other up to 13.

I have had lots of fun playing. It will show you your finished bead. However I do have expensive taste.....

I really like the idea, but a bit expensive (and donno if they post abroad)

Does anyone knows an other site where to make these sort of beads ? (with just a name)

I found this : http://cgi.ebay.com/Personalized-Ch...ItemQQimsxZ20090603?IMSfp=TL090603174004r7509
to put a photo on your bracelet...
