The sterling Chamilia charms are the same size as other brands, but the glass ones are smaller. I can see the difference, and it did bother me because I am obsessive about things like that. For instance, I have to have my glass beads evenly spaced. And I group my sterling beads by category on the bracelet (holidays, fairy tales, animals, etc). If you are like me, then you will probably be upset by the difference in the size.

OOhhh. okaaay. I thought you meant the sterling charms were smaller. I'm not sure about any glass beads because I've heard they make the bracelet heavy, so in that case, maybe smaller would be better. :shrugs: But I'm sure I'll group my beads like you do because I'm just weird about things like that. NOT, that I mean you're weird, lol, just that I am weird about organizing things. :tup:

Personally I dont like them.. maybe when they were a rare item but now every 2nd girl has a real one and the rest have fakes.. :tdown: it's a shame ebay/retailers had to wreck it with having sooooooooo many fakes.

Funny, but I think I have seen fewer than five ladies wearing these (Pandora or knockoff) in the last year. Maybe they are much more popular in other places.

Hi - I'm new to tPF and found this thread while searching my latest obsession! My work friend has a Pandora bracelet - actually, two - and now I've started too! I've gotten a few beads and am saving for the gold-bead silver bracelet. I plan to mix silver-and-gold beads with beads w/champagne stones. I'm very pleased with the beads I've gotten so far; the weight and quality are superb. I noticed her bracelets, which she wears daily, are a bit tarnished (she doesn't mind) but I think I will keep mine shiny if I can. I think the stones sparkle more if you keep them clean. (I think it's just natural oxidation that "dirties" up the silver over time.)

In the past, I have made many traditional charm bracelets for myself and special people in my life; I think Pandora is a natural progression from those! I enjoy the collecting aspect, but like most of you, I want it all NOW!

Most of my gold and silver mix Pandora charms are pretty heavily oxidized. Polishing them shines up the bright parts, but they can look very dark even when you keep them cleaned. If you really want a bright, sparkly bracelet, you might want to pick some of the smoother charms with less relief.

Have fun collecting...

You're right - they are pretty! But I think I like the Pandora look of similar-sized beads that relate well to each other. The Murano beads are just so big - I want the beads to roll nicely on my wrist, know what I mean?

p.s. Shout out to Chicago!

Sunny day I completly agree - I need my beads to match! I never even thought about the fact that these handmade beads would be larger!! I am still waiting for my package to come - it's making me crazy!!!! Stupid question - where do you find your pandora in Chicago? I saw online one store in water tower sold them but not much else.... So annoying!

Go to pandora-jewelry and use their store locator. I understand the stores have events a couple times a year when you can buy 3 get one free and similar specials! And new beads will come out in September - fun! There will be some cloisonne enamels in the new group - I emailed an online store and just heard!

I have also gotten a couple beads at great prices from collectabead on eBay. My work friend gave me a spare Pandora catalog so I can really see the whole assortment and check authenticity. Let me know if you check out any stores this weekend!

I'm excited about Pandora's new release of beads. I think its the best release that Pandora's come out with for at least three seasons. At a recent jewelry trade show in Las Vegas, many of the Pandora reps were really excited about the Fall 08 release. And after seeing the beads, I totally agree.

The cupcake and picnic basket are very cute and something that I didn't think Pandora would make. Several styles in cloisonne will be available in pale pink, light blue or pearly white. A few hearts beads will be new including a dangle heart available in two colors or an all red enamel heart. We'll also have more Murano beads to choose from.

Pandora "gold" accounts are usually the first to receive new beads. To find out if your store is a gold account, go to Pandora's store locator and it'll tell you what level each store is. On-line stores are required to be gold retailers so you might see them on-line first before your local store receives them.

Charmqueen, thanks a lot for the info. I can't wait to see the new beads! Do you know if they'll be available in Europe at the same time?
A cupcake bead... :heart::tup:
I've become so addicted to collecting Pandora beads, but it's so sad that none of my friends collect them. So I have no one to discuss with except my boyfriend (who is reaaally annoyed already). But I love to come here and read your thoughts on Pandora, finally some people who understand my addiction :okay:
