Pandora Bracelet question...very upset.

We just use little baggies that we receive the beads in from the manufacturer but any plastic baggie will do. The boxes are tarnish free but there isn't an airtight seal so air and moisture get in and can cause tarnishing.

I have always thought the bracelets should be stored in air tight baggies when not being worn because when buying a new bracelet, that's what the new bracelets for sale are stored in.

When we buy a new bracelet at the store, who knows how long it has been sitting around in that airtight baggie but the bracelet is always shiny and untarnished......

I wish all stores would provide baggies when purchasing and explain this. I sure could have learned.

I recommend a silver cleaning cloth by connoisseurs i have just bought off ebay.I used one a while ago & my local stockist closed down & that was that so i couldn't by any more. There are two cloths, one to remove tarnish, the other to buff the beads up. Not bad for £3.50 with p & p for free considering they are normally around the £5-£6 mark & it's huge compared to the tiny rag you get off Pandora!

I have one of these I just found...I will try it thanks!!!

I work for a Pandora retailer and every now and then I see this happen. Its true that the silver reacts to your skin chemistry and if you use lotions or perfumes it could tarnish quicker. The other thing is when you store it in the Pandora box, air may get in there and cause it to tarnish quicker. We give all our customers a small plastic bag to put the bracelet in before it goes into the box. If Pandora wont do anything, and you're options are limited, why not use a silver liquid cleaner? Just hold it by the bead clasp part and dip the rest of the bracelet in. Just make sure to take all the beads off.
The Official Pandora company has a Facebook page and the lady that runs it, Charlotte is very useful in getting info and answering questions. If you are on Facebook, why don't you fan the page and put your question to her? She is very good at telling you what you can do or she may give you a contact to help with your problem. I hope this helps.

They will not do anything :( I wish I would have known this as I didn't get a bag either. Makes sense though. AND I had it stored in the kitchen cabinet where I put my earrings and Wedding rings when I take them off. Guess it is my fault. I wear perfume too - never thought about that. I will check Facebook. Thanks for the input!

I was told to not wear the bracelet if I was wearing perfume of lotion and to polish it with a silver polishing cloth only...I was given a soft bag and a box from the jewellery store that I bought it at so that is where I am storing mine for now until I can go get the clips tomorrow night to clip over the threads and then I can start wearing it again yay!!!
I was also told if you wear it often that will keep it from tarnishing too, and that storing silver for long periods of time is what makes it tarnish. I don't know how true that is though?

I have a jewelry box hidden in the house with a lot of silver pieces in it. I opened it the other day & all my silver is black, so i guess storing it for a long period of time & not wearing it may turn it black after all.

Ok, technically the stores are discouranging people from keeping the bracelet in the box you recieved it in. They are finding they think its the glue that is actually causing tarnishing.....

Here's hoping they change the glue as I can't find an official pandora jewelry box so I'd like to keep my bracelet in the box it came in.

Dipped in what? It's all sterling, not plated. Mine turned black/copper from the box too. Spent 30 minutes polishing it with a silver cloth... It's perfect.

If pandora said that to me "we will dip the bracelet" I would tell them go take a running jump! I would ask why, since the website doesn't say silver plated. It sounds like a con to me.
