Packaging for online order

Gosh I hope they don't start changing all the boutique boxes to magnetic boxes. I really dislike them as they are kind of flimsy especially when the adhesive wears off (they are assembled in store from flat packaging).

I totally agree with you regarding the packaging for online order. I was totally disappointed when I received mine too. It was the magnetic box and I was expecting the boutique packaging. Not that big of deal in the grand scheme of things but still was dissapointed. I only ordered online because the item I wanted was sold out at the boutiques and it came back in stock online.

I think it’s really depends on who wrap it.. Ive never seen the gold star in any of my boxes, and I buy so many many Dior..
One time in the boutique, they even mixed up my mom’s earrings, they put each earring of different pairs in the box.

I just watched unboxing video of this youtuber and she got the past Christmas packaging, gold star, and such a big beautiful satin ribbon. I didnt get anything! First world problem but this is annoying when I spent so much money!

They sometimes run out of the star, and some boutiques have run out of the Christmas packaging so they will not be able to give them. In addition, some SAs don't follow all the rules when they package the merchandise.

Sorry to hear that you didn't receive everything. You can message the SA who sold you the bag and ask if they can give you the bag (if it's still available) and the star.

I got my lady dior yesterday and my packaging was disappointing too! I wonder if I am able to request for holiday packaging from the online store? I don't have a specific SA but it would be amazing to get 2019's holiday packaging. i am contacting Dior to exchange it tho...i paid too much to not get the full experience!

This is disappointing to hear as I can only order online due to the closest store being over a day's drive and I'm always stuck at work.

I ordered online and I have no SA. Nearest Dior is 4 hours drive :( I did email Dior, lets see if they respond back. Thank you though!

I am
just upset that I paid so much money and just because it was an online purchase, I didnt get the full experience.

Let me know what you find! And if they are helpful at all. I agree it is disappointing!

I ordered the notesbooks for 50 euros off of the website and they came beautifully wrapped. Box and ribbon with tissue paper. l did however not get the shopping bag or metal star. The CS said that online orders now do not come with the shopping bags beacuse of environmental reasons.

Well, l did get the shopping bag in my latest online order so the reply from Dior CS is just BS. It really does seem to depend on who packages the order.

UPDATE: Dior just got back to me and said they saw the CCTV camera of my bag being packed and they didnt see any issues with the packaging. The Xmas packaging was only available from Dec to Jan. And they have stopped including the shopping bags since July 2020 to help save the environment.
I now just give up...:annoyed:

Interesting response by Dior, to watch the CCTV.

Not sure why they couldn't offer to send you maybe some samples to make you happy, though. Something like that can go a long way. Not so much that we want samples, but that it shows that they are willing to go the extra mile (unless they gave you some samples already with your purchase).

No I didn't get any samples. I am ok with that though because I ordered from Dior Beauty and got tons of samples. There was so much difference between the beauty packaging and the packaging for the bag. The beauty package came all wrapped in the big, wide satin Dior ribbon and bill/receipt was in a grey sealed envelope. However, the bag receipt was thrown on the box. No ribbon on the big box. There was small ribbons on the charms boxes. I am quite happy with the bag but when I spent 1000s on a bag (my first Dior purchase) was expecting something more. The bottom line is to try to get from the boutique as much as possible if you want the full experience.

My last online order two weeks ago came with the shopping bag so they still definitely include the shopping bags for some of them anyways.

I agree. I would have expected it to be the other way around given that the bag costs significantly more.

I thought it is clearly stated on their website that:
”ART OF GIFTING
Your order will be beautifully packaged in an iconic Dior gift box and accompanied by a personal message”

And in the FAQ section:
”WILL MY ORDER BE PACKAGED AS A GIFT?
To give you a unique experience, we pay extra attention to preparing your order.
Each order is prepared in a Dior workshop and individually wrapped in the gift box, tied with silk ribbon. The gift box is then placed in a box that protects your order and keeps it anonymous during shipping.”

I am hesitant to order online now after hearing your stories on TPF. I am based in Belgium and am eyeing the Travel Beautycase. Of course I would love that it’s delivered in their pretty packaging :confused1:

Is there any TPF members from Belgium who have any good experience with online purchases?
