Outlet Spy Pics!

So - I was at the Ellenton, Fl outlet last Wednesday and there were tons of boutique bags - today when I returned and they had 70% the entire store - all the deletes were gone - they put them in the back! I hate the way Coach operates

That is just stupid. And what a waste of time for those that drive a long way to get there. Why do they care if they actually sell some of those bags cheaper?

I mentioned about this in another thread. I was in there on Friday, and they would not even show me what they had as far as deletes. I was able to buy one the first part of the week, but they had to pull it from the back and did not have any on the floor at all. So, unless you know to ask, you are never going to see these bags. This defies all logic for any company that is in the business to sell a product, lol. I do live close by and have shopped there a lot over the years so most of the SAs know me. I don't think they understand the philosophy, either.

That is just pure craziness. Coach has no logic.

Especially if they are trying to prevent the resellers from buying them but then they turn around and let them buy oodles of merchandise! Why not let us buy one bag?? Coach surely is not a business. I'm not sure what they are. It is like a secret club you have to be in in order to buy something.

Maybe they are trying to fashion themselves after Hermes in their quest to be a luxury brand, LOL.

At the outlet, no less!! lol That is funny.

I was also told that if they "allowed" me to buy one of the deletes on Friday, I would have to pay full price, LOL. Pick a direction, Coach.

I mentioned this recently during the reveal for my new Dusty Rose Tea Rose Applique Bandit that I got at the Outlet in Rosemont IL at a great price during their tiered sale. I love my new bag but when I first arrived at the outlet the small number of FP deletes on display were not too exciting.

I told an SA that I had gotten a gift card for Christmas and was hoping to buy a great bag but I wasn't finding anything to tempt me.

She replied "Well, we do have some more bags from the retail stores in the back but I am not sure that I can sell them yet". I asked her if they had any larger rogues or dreamers and she said "no, but we have some other nice bags".

So I asked to see "the retail bags in the back" and she talked to her manager and he said "Go for it!" and so she came back with 3 bandits and several Selena bags on her arms. There were 2 suede bandits, the medium blue suede with blue leather panels, and the grey suede bandit with oxblood trim. I think that they had both retailed for $695, and she also had the dusty rose tea rose applique Bandit that had originally sold for $850.

I had looked at the dusty rose applique Bandit bag previously but had passed because it was such a pricey bag, but at $319 when I am carrying a $300 gift card, it was an easy decision - and I don't have anything similar to it in my purse wardrobe.

I told the SA that I would take the tea rose Bandit and I asked her "do you have any other goodies in the back?" She said "We have some accessories and I may be able to find a nice wallet to go with the bag!". They didn't have any FP delete wallets or small accessories out on display even though they were offering a "take an extra 20% off on a wallet when you buy a bag sale!!

She came back with a dusty rose envelope wallet and when I saw the amazing discount price ($54) on the wallet I said "I'll take it!"

I asked the SA "Why are you keeping all these goodies in the back instead of out on display?" and she said "Sometimes we are not supposed to sell Special Bags from the retail store during big sales!" So apparently they are holding on to some bags to sell at higher prices after the sale ends. I can sort of understand that, but this Bandit bag came out over a year ago and I think that it is time to deep discount it!

If they are only offering 50% off on a FP delete bag then I may as well get it at the earlier Boutique sales events because the bag will be more current and fresher then! If it is an older style that has been sent to the outlets after the boutique sales have ended, then it is time to offer it at a better price IMO!

When I was leaving the store the manager said to me "That's a beautiful bag, the very best Coach leather they make, and you really got it for a steal!" I laughed and agreed but said "That's true but it is only fitting that I got it for a steal because it is a bag for a Bandit!" He laughed and I thanked him and left.

I was able to buy a delete at the first part of last week, but it was in the back room, and I only got it because I asked. That day, when I asked why they were not on display, I was told it was a space issue, lol. It reminds me of a shoe store in my area years ago that used to sell fake LV from the back room. It was all hush-hush, of course, and all by word of mouth. However, Coach, if you are not selling contraband, put them on the floor, lol.

Especially because by the time it makes to the outlet it has been manhandled many times, and often not stored well, etc. So if they are playing those games, it only makes sense that most people won't bother with them and go ahead and buy on the SAS sale. The outlet options should be cheaper because they are often in lesser condition at that point.

My closest outlet has removed the original tags from FP deletes and replaced them with outlet tags (beginning with "F"). They also removed all the dustbags from FP deletes, even the 1941 ones. All for 50% off? It's disappointing, but makes me focus on buying the bags I really like during PCE/SAS and not bothering with the outlet anymore.

I did see the Nomads before they put them up, and they were in very good condition. But, they are what now, 4 years old? Makes you wonder where they've been all these years, lol.

Quite a few are mff now. They mix them in with the fp versions in stores.

I've definitely moved towards SAS and haven't been to an outlet in 3 years. I would rather get 50% + 10-15% e*bates, gift boxes, and free shipping/returns during SAS than play the outlet game.

I had stopped going in there for a while and then went in twice last week, so that is when I noticed that it was such a game they were playing. One day a wristlet is $20 and a couple of days later it's 22, lol.

It's so bad that the same item can change prices daily during their online outlet sales.

It seems like such a waste of time and $ to keep moving deletes back and forth from the back room. Couldn't those employee hours be put to better use?

And you would be guaranteed the dust bag if you purchased during SAS, too. Not always guaranteed if purchasing via outlet.

50% off the leads on some bags some bags of 60 some bags of 70 I did get a price adjustment on my Rivet rogue so my final price was $149 Because the road was marked down to 497 and I got 70% off that boom. That bag was 995

This price is crazy good... Amazing.

This was my experience as well when I returned. Even though it is annoying, I understand them removing the retail tags and dustbags as to try and curb re-selling but why not sell just ONE bag? It really put a sour taste in my mouth to drive 30+ minutes out of my way for nothing.

This happens ever so often. It seems like every once in a while they clean out the forgotten corners of the warehouse and come up with all sorts of older goodies. We're talking goodies from years ago.

I remember the Coach outlets of 20 years ago - they sold mostly boutique bags and as recently as 10 years ago they always had the full price deletes out with deep discounts - now they are being jerks - I have better luck with the on-line outlet.

All for 50% off? It's disappointing, but makes me focus on buying the bags I really like during PCE/SAS and not bothering with the outlet anymore.

I lucked out recently on a retail wallet found order that the SA mistakenly deeply discounted, but I find it frustrating when the deletes are only 50% off because what is the point of sending them to the outlet if that is the only discount they will offer? I've decided too if I really like a bag, just buy it during a PCE/SAS.
