I am a fan of box calf bags. My feet are temperamental. Some summers, I swear orans (in box calf) which are supposed to conform to the foot, are suddenly uncomfortable. Other summers, they are fine. No idea why. It takes me a while to break in box calf orans. The leather is a bit thicker ans chewier. You would think the epsom wouls be stiffer, but they are not. They are relative,y pliable, and they somehow stick less to the feet on a hot summer day. So, in a real sense, I think they are cooler. (Hope that is not too much info). I think they run a hairs breath larger, but not enough to make a difference. I chalk this up to them being slightly thinner leather. I have both. Epsom is pretty sturdy too. (I learned this when I spilled an inch of carbonated water in my 25B sellier and walked hime unknowing. Apparently the bag is water tight and dried with pout a fuss when I put it over a wine bottle up side down. So you could say I am a recent convert to epsom lol.

Wanted to belatedly respond to this now that I've had a chance to wear and love my cactus epsom sandals! I definitely see what you mean about the "coolness" factor. Had mine on in 87* weather today and they felt great! Your intel was super helpful so figured I'd +1 for anyone else who has the same questions about epsom I did.

Does anyone know if white is available in epsom leather?? Or is it an old style that won't be available anymore!? Love the look of textured leather... but might just have to go with smooth leather

I am debating on getting a pair but have seen a lot of bad reviews of color transfer, creating blisters, leather cracking after a few wears, etc.
Would love to get more reviews and opinions on this. TYSM

I have 4 pairs (been wearing them for 6 yrs) and I have never had a problem with them. I never had a “break in” period nor do they give me blisters of any kind. I do have a very slim and narrow foot, don’t know how they fit someone with a wider foot. I have to say that I am in South Florida and I think wearing flip flops and slides is so common that I have never had a problem walking in them. I do know some people feel like their foot is going to slide out, but that’s never been my case.
Edited to add that I have never had color transfer or leather cracking on mine. Ever.

I have been wearing Oran's for years now. I have not had any issues or comments that you discuss
in your post. I really live in them from April til almost Oct (weather permitting)
As a matter of fact just purchased Vert Absinthe & Violet Majorette in the last few days
I have sensitive feet & my feet are narrow. While I would not look to break in or wear a pair on
an extremely hot day, I have no issues. No redness on my toes, no blisters etc.
If you are able to try them on in person, that's the way to go, IMO
Orans are forever & just look great on ones feet, JMO

I have wide feet and own like 5 pairs but they are not the best for wide feet, especially the EPSOM ones.

My little pinky toe hurts and i get blisters on my feet around the ‘H’. Take the box leather ones. After breaking them in (takes a short while) they will feel nice but they are still no made to wear for hours on end.

I have one pair of oasis in box leather and i regret not getting more. They are so nice for wide feet and quite comfortable.

I bought the pairs in a short amount of time. I was letting the esthetic get to my head.

Are Orans supposed to fit like this ? I have narrow feet . I’m not sure ? Like is it too small or so I need a size bigger and if it was bigger would it flying my feet ? lol . The SA at the store said that if they are bigger they won’t work because of narrow feet ?

Personally, I don’t have narrow feet but I have a friend who has this issue. She has found that some Orans in certain leathers fit better than others. Lizard seems to work best for her.

I have narrow feet & my toes do not come as close to the edge as these do on you
Did you try a half size larger?
When I try on Orans I ask the SA to bring out several pairs in my size so I can compare
I've never had a issue asking & I just see which size fits my foot better.
For me the lizard, leather & alligators fit well except the alligators can be a little stiff
I also have a pair of satin Orans that are also on the stiff side but my foot eased into them after
wearing a few times
