I think oprah should do what wendy recommend today, draft an ironclad agreement and let barbara have the house and then she has to do all the maintenance and taxation etc cetera on it. Oprah is worth billions she can easily give that lady that house and not miss a thing. Give it to her, and wash your hands of it.

Wouldn't matter if she were a male.... I'd still dislike her....here's why. Oprah had a talk show for what 25 years????? I refused to watch it...her guests never got to talk! She would ask some questions and do the majority of talking!!!! Nobody tuning in to hear you talk freak.....be quiet and let your guests speak.... she never did. Too full of herself. Secondly she says ignorant statements such as "prejudice won't end until all the old white people die." She can kma!
The bolded is kinda true (from my experience)...but you know our experiences in life shape how we feel about statements like those..mine, yours and Oprah's obviously being different..so I could see how other people may find it off-putting. In any event, kinda odd that you say you refused to watch her show but dislike her yet know the questions she's asked her guests. I've never really watched her show that much but from what I saw she seemed to tailor her show to the guest that was on the show....dunno...again...different viewpoints.
Again...giving up a legal battle against Oprah so easy sound suspect...

So funny. I always said the same thing. If the topic interested her and was something she could relate to, she would only talk about herself and her own experiences. Otherwise, she was very bored and we could see that.
While this makes for a good story, Barbara really needs to have a seat and direct her anger to the appropriate person, which is Vernon - not Oprah.
#1 he cheated in you with a prostitute called "One Tooth".
#2 you signed papers on a new palatial home WITHOUT reading them. Had you read it, you would have known from jump that the deed wasn't in your name and perhaps you AND Vernon could have negotiated better terms.
#3 you married Vernon - not Oprah. If you didn't like how Oprah was treating you, tell Vernon, who should have stepped in and addressed it with her. But he didn't, probably blinded by the money/financial support she provided.
This article definitely comes across to me as an ex-wife who is misdirecting her hurt feelings towards to the wrong person. I don't care personally how much of a bish Oprah may or may not be - that's her money to spend how she chooses. If one of my parents got remarried ( and I'm filthy rich) I'd interrogate that person too because I'd want to make sure they were with my parent for the right reason - and not to simply get close to me/my money/my lifestyle. As big whoop, Steadman and Oprah have a relationship of convenience...I'm sure there a lot of marriages functioning that way (ex. staying together for the kids, the image, money, etc.)

Doesn't matter if Oprah is worth trillions. She is not obligated to care for this woman AND she was nice enough to offer her something else and she had the nerve to turn it down. Now you get nothing! Someone offers you help when they don't have to and you want to turn it down? Kick rocks!

A former co-worker of mine works for O Magazine. 2 months after working there she got a $10K Christmas bonus along with everyone else. Oprah is not cheap with her money.
yea that sounds like something she would do - she is not cheap or stingy with it.
now just imagine what those girls were getting that had been working with her for years!!!!
