I don't believe it's a question of race. I agree with Nahreen, it's more a matter of being dressed up or not. Plus, the girl was italian - I'll be a little bit narrowminded here and say that Italians can be very snobby! Especially SAs :-D

Funny how the talk of racism in this thread has now turned to being discriminating against Italians. Awesome. :oh:

Being Italian and having family in Italy as well as travelling all over Italy i can honestly say i have no idea what your talking about.

Judging an entire country is very narrow minded. Anyone regardless of race can be snobby, so lets not pigeon hole here.

Please, see my previous post. No offense meant - I will back out humbly. I just tried to joke about the fact that apperently it 's ok to judge the girl as being racist bc she wouldnt show a bag.

I do apologize for seeming offensive. I have nothing against Italy and have travelled a lot in the country. And met both snobbish and down to earth people :-)

Snobbism exists at a lot of places, not only SAs. I work as a scientific researcher at a hospital and there are doctors that never says hello to the cleaning lady that works there everyday. For me it is important to be nice to everybody and to say hello shows good manners!!

Oh no worries at all. I understand SAs can certainly be snobby, all i meant was you will find them in all countries :-)

I don't understand why some salespeople are so snobby. I'm sure most ladies on TPF who buy designer have had at least one of these experiences. Like i just don't understand. It's your JOB to make sales. I'm guessing the more sales you make, the more recognition/commission you get. Why would you lose an opportunity to make a sale based on how somebody looks? You never know who you're dealing with. Not everyone with money walks around decked out in designer goods head to toe. This chick should be fired. Oprah was way too nice.
