$10k for a 2crt excellent quality stone isn't reasonable, they're more than that.
There's a TON of threads about this - diamond shopping/advice- let's not hijack someone else's thread and get off topic
OMG swankymamaofthree, I am absolutely in love with those rings your posted. I want to go try some split shank rings on tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able too. Thanks for the opinions ladies I think I'm leaning toward the split shank. I want to get two yellow diamond bands to go on either side.
This is the same person. I thought she was supposed to have it by next week even.
She really has a lot of excitement and a lot of what she likes out there! Which is why I mentioned a few times to get a simple solitaire with no diamonds on i t, and then give it some time.
Hey hookaplan and ame, the ring purchase got pushed back for one main reason.I was having second thoughts about the design. So I decided to put off purchasing until I knew for sure what I wanted. Didn't want to get tired of something I would be wearing everyday. I'm still getting an HOF diamond but am unsure of the setting for the e-ring. The original setting I was going to get wasn't a HOF setting although the pave diamonds could be replaced with HOF diamonds, but that was just an unnecessary extra cost in my opinion. After seeing so many gorgeous yellow diamond bands I now know for sure I want two yellow diamond eternity bands on either side of my e-ring. And now the only thing left to decide is the setting. I want it simple but a lil different. I never really noticed split shanks before but I really like their unique but simple look.
Why not just get a basic solitaire with your HOF diamond and then keep looking for another setting? You can keep the basic solitaire for a gemstone later. That way you have your stone and can plan around your stone and still wear it while you make your choice?
I am just hoping I get a good scrap trade on this current one. I already know what Pearlmans would give me towards a totally custom new sholdt (swoon!) but DH and I both leaned more towards the Vatche Royal Crown and now I just hope that perhaps the local vendor will give me a decent scrap trade so I can just order this bad boy!
i adore that LM Emerald cut split shank .. so beautiful!
my e-ring is actually in the jewellers now being re-set (halo) and i thought that i wanted a split shank but it didnt work so well with my wedding band (really fine band of platinum and diamonds) so i decided against it ...
i also have a stone thats a lil over 1 carat - i think split shanks look better on the bigger rocks ...
