Opinion on this pair of over-the-knee boots

I really like these boots, but they are a bit expensive for me and will they be a good investment? Or are over the knee boots only around for FW09. I would probably get in black, but am undecided. I have a pair of brown flat boots, grey heeled boots, black heeled boots, and will probably get a nice pair of black flat riding boots (waterproof) this fall.

Probably with mini skirts, short dresses, and sweater dresses. My calves are on the larger size so I don't think jeans will fit tucked in.

I wish I could try them on in person, but not much of the line is carried in NYC.
